This wonderful village, with its portuguese colonial houses, friendly people, located in the very south of ilha de santa catarina, is almost a hidden treasure, away from the tourist waves that go and fill other sites such as Lagoa da Conceição. Nice views from the sea and the sightseeing of the distant oyster farms, some nice car rides through its... More

South from the airport, easy to get lost driving there. Full of very good oyster & sea food restaurants, you can find the same restaurants all over the island in nicer beaches. Nothing else to see there but the restaurants.

Enjoyed a day trip to this charming village for lunch and a view of the beach. One if the quieter areas on Santa Catarina and well worth the drive to this cute village. The church is lovely. Small homes and shops are in well preserved traditional Azorean architectural style. Beach was calm and serene.

This is the most picturesque village from the Azores on the island. There are some beautifully coloured houses there. The church is really worth seeing as well. The beach is very small but there are no waves as it is on the west coast. There are also many great restaurants and cafes. This is a place for oysters.

We came through Ribeirao da Ilha and I thought it was such a cute, old town! Lots of colourful buildings. Nothing in particular to do here that I am aware of but I like to go through little historical towns. I believe we ate at a restaurant here on the shore, yummy seafood!

What I like about this is that it is a break from just the beaches at Floripa. The colonial houses are really cute and worthwhile to stop by (and take some ) pictures if you are around the area.

Great, older traditional fishing village that has added many tourist type attractions for visitors. Fishing, jet-skis, boating, windsurfing, are all available. Restaurants of all types available for all budgets.
