I was in Porto Alegre for two weeks during the world cup and i had plenty of time to look around. I think that this is one of the best places to see in PoA. Entrance is free and the exhibit was worth seeing. In another city, this attraction wouldn't get 5 stars, but because there isn't a great deal... More

This art museum is located centrally in Porto Alegre in a historic building with a classic attractive lobby and main hall. At the time of our visit (entry was free) a very interesting Nik Muniz exhibit was going on - which was quite impressive for such a small museum. The setting enhances the works of art, and within an hour... More

Thanks a lot of this place: I finally was able to visit the exhibition of Nik Muniz. It was very interesting! Also, there is a wonderful bookstore, as well as various accessories for painters (pencils, paint). There's also sold designer's jewelery. I loved decorating project Canoe. Very Recommend!!!

Its a fabulous museum mostly because of the classic architecture. They usually have good exhibits and also a small cinema that plays "non mainstream" movies. Definetely worth a visit. Located in a beautiful downtown area.

The Santander doesn't have a steady calendar of exhibitions, but it offers films and other cultural atractions. The atrium is very beautiful and worth a visit. As is it in the same Alfandega Square where the main museum of the city (MARGS), don't miss both visits.

Almost every other saturday, since 2005, I visit the Santander Cultural building to participate of music workshops. Albeit I go there to accomplish that very specific task, which takes place in one of the conference rooms located on the side walks of the first floor, I am always impressed by the regular expositions going on in its galleries. From photographs,... More

Santander Cultural is one cultural center maintained by Santander Bank in a historic building in Porto Alegre. Located in the Praça da Alfandega. On the ground floor and the second floor it houses exhibits, and the old underground vaults were transformed in room movies, a coffee shop and restaurants. Has hosted important exhibitions in the city, such as the painters... More

We stumbled onto this art gallery and were so delighted. The expositions were truly wonderful by artists from all regions of Brazil. Contemporary art and modern art at its best. We did not visit the theatre on the lower level.
