This canyon is very beautiful and accessible. We took a taxi from Cambara Do Sul, which cost $R70. It costs $R13 to get into the park, half for Brazilian residents. Its about 2-3 hours worth of non-strenuous self guided walking. Locals say its best to visit in the morning because it fogs up in the afternoon. Definitely worth a trip!

It's a very pretty place. Great views. Too bad only a small part of the park can be reached. And the place around Itaimbezinho tends to be "too civilized" with "fences" around the canyon... But it's still very much a great place to visit.

Cambara do Sul is a small town, about 3 hours from Porto Alegre. You can get there from Porto Alegre or Caxias, the nearest airport. best thing is to rent a car. visit Itaimbezinho and Fortaleza Cannions, they are amazing. The ideal time is to go during winter, when the fog is out, and from the high mountain you can... More

I have seen pictures of that canyon and believe it is beautiful but unfortunately I did`nt see much as it was very foggy. Just one big white wall instead of canyon view... sound of waterfalls and few seconds view between big fog clouds to the bottom.. but it was nice and quiet walk, lot of great trees, fresh air.. As... What an amazing landscape! These huge natural walls are a true miracle of the nature. The araucaria forest and the plenty of surrounding green makes it even more beautiful, specially in a sunny day when it is quite possible to see the sea, on the very far horizon. Certainly a must in the southern Brazil, for both nature lovers and... More

The view of the canyon is beautiful. The road access to the Park is not so good, if you have a jeep it will be better.

Itaimbezinho is just one of the many canyons located in Aparados da Serra National Park, a very well preserved park, in the border of the 2 southernmost states of Brazil. One of the most spectacular natural attractions in Brazil. Simple as that. http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%C3%A2nion_do_Itaimbezinho Stunning, breathtaking scenery in a complex of canyons, valleys and forests. 800 m high vertical walls filled... More

I prefer Fortaleza canyon, because it is completely natural. But the view of this Canyon is beautiful too and easy accesible for everybody and save to visit with children

My wife and I did a trip here a while back now with SESC and whilst the weather was cold grey and overcast it was certanly memorable. Despite the cloudy weather the vistas of the native Arucarias in the low cloud was unforgetable and the plan is to return. Rio Grande do Sul is te other Brasil. https://picasaweb.google.com/117827836726323602745/Itaimbezinho#5477834402224808594
