We enjoyed the walk looking at the canyons and the vegetation. I think they offer food here but we took our own picnic lunch and enjoyed the afternoon. It is a long drive though so try to plan your day and get out early to see other sights.

This is a trip you should take if you are in Southern Brazil! The drive fon town is not that bad. We did it in a small Fiat. I have watches with more power, but it managed well, so you really don't need a guide for this trip. The canyon is striking! Long and narrow with several beautiful waterfalls. The... More

One of the most beautiful sights on earth Together with his far neighbour Fortaleza Cannyon, it lays on the highs of Rio Grande do Sul Access to park is easy, near to small cities like Sao Francisco de Paula. The park structure is good, you can have a good walk to reach several view of the cannyon, However it lacks... More

Those seeking radical adventures will not be satisfied with the trilha do Vertice which is very easy to do but great views if you are trekking with small children and elderly people - make sure you visit on a clear day as it can easily get overcast and misty. On your way to the canyon and back stop at the... More

This canyon is very beautiful and accessible. We took a taxi from Cambara Do Sul, which cost $R70. It costs $R13 to get into the park, half for Brazilian residents. Its about 2-3 hours worth of non-strenuous self guided walking. Locals say its best to visit in the morning because it fogs up in the afternoon. Definitely worth a trip!

It's a very pretty place. Great views. Too bad only a small part of the park can be reached. And the place around Itaimbezinho tends to be "too civilized" with "fences" around the canyon... But it's still very much a great place to visit.

Cambara do Sul is a small town, about 3 hours from Porto Alegre. You can get there from Porto Alegre or Caxias, the nearest airport. best thing is to rent a car. visit Itaimbezinho and Fortaleza Cannions, they are amazing. The ideal time is to go during winter, when the fog is out, and from the high mountain you can... More
