Never before have I seen such a terrible destroyed beach promenade full of trash. Disgusting. Here, for years done nothing to repiared the promenade. Every second coming beach vendors and beggars. Intrusive. Never again I'm going to this beach.

Ponta Negra is overrated.
As you walk the beach, you'll see how the sea-side sidewalk is being eaten away by the tides. Careful to not step into a hole. You might even see some exposed sewage pipes. You can smell the sewage, the trash. Based on seeing this sidewalk and the smells, I would no dare swim in the beach....

the beach is nice with good restaurants around area. Is a hard place to find a public parking and several people advice us to be careful with our stuff. The 'Morro de careca' in Punta Negra is very original and wonderfull landscape! I liked pubs and music !
It is an urban beach now, ie too many buildings around, traffic etc. Lots of bars in the evening but I didn't get the chance...with Pipa 40 km away and empty beaches to the North I wouldnt go there. For one day...it is ok
The sand cascade on the left side is breathtaking and justifies alone the trip to Natal. The area is quite dirty though, with full of holes in the main street and walking area. Excellent restaurant at walking distance.
I was glad I had been driven to this beach. It's a very nice beach with a nice view of Morro do Careca beach but I was told that most the bars behind the beach are full of the types that are looking for paid services. Not a nice part right next to the beach.
Excellent location by the sea, great beaches for daytime and restaurants, bars for nightlife! Strongly recomend the escursion in dune-buggy to discover the wild life with extreme excitement!
Calm and with all the city structure behing you, it is a perfect place to spend your day if you not in the mood to go far for nicer beach.
Very entertaining to be on beach but watch your belongings! Sea quite rough with strong current. Nice food and drinks to be bought on beach.
