Great point for the Sunset

Near from Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon. It's a wonderful place to walk or biking around, and at the end drink Coconut water and seeing the Sunset.

The lake is MUCH nice when viewed form the Christ statue. When you walk around it it is very dirty and at tea has a fowl smell. There are unsafe and badly maintained bikes to rent but I don't recommend it. During the month of December there is a pretty interesting metallic floating Christmas tree with a ok light show

Make a trip (cycling or walking) alongside this Lagoa that will be used for a part of the Olympic Games in 2016. (After cleaning) There is a common path for cyclists, joggers and pedistrians all the way (8 km). There are places to eat, to drink coco water or something else. You can enjoy different views on Rio's sugar loaf... More

Came here back in 2013. Didn't take us long to walk from Copacabana beach. Rented bikes for an hour, pretty cheap and then cycled round at a pleasant pace. Great afternoon and would recommend it for a quiet one.

It's all flat so no efforts needed, relaxing with nice views and have cozy spots for a picnic, vendors selling coconut water and snacks.

Rental of a bike is a great time for a few hours of fun. However, the water is highly polluted and when you are downwind the smells can overtake you. It is wise to not go on a hot day because of the smells.

The Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas is a beautiful lake in the heart of Ipanema. About 7.5km around, it is the perfect running circuit. With a nice track going all round it, the lake serves as a place for sport, exercise, relaxation, enjoyment of nature & beauty and so on. Excellent views of Cristo Redentor are also provided as you walk... More

Around the lagoon is a very nice stroll with 7.5 km. In sunny winter days, all day long is very pleasant, but in summer i would rather go early in the morning or by sunset hours. there are some bars and restaurants that function mostly by night hours. The arabic restaurant is very good and palaphita bar has a very... More

This is in fact a lagoon not a lake since there´s a connection with the ocean water through a canal (Jardim de Alá) which affects the water life in the water body. Anyway, this is a very nice place to have a walk or even ride a bike (also available for rental). There are some play area for kids and... More
