I dare anyone to come here and not be at peace. The water is blue, the views of Rio and the statue of Christ the Redeemer pleasant, and a good choice of restaurant or snack close by. Many Carioca's come here to exercise and relax. With a nice breeze to relax you on a hot day. It is one of... More

I am certain there are good times to visit this lake. January was not one of them. No cool breeze blows off this lake. It was just hot and sticky

There's a nice cicling way sorrounding the lagoon which is perfect for a ride or run. Also there are two parks - Parque dos Patins and Parque do Cantagalo - with roller skates ramps, bikes and eletric cars for rental (kids only), sports courts (tennis, basketball, football, volleyball and even baseball). There's a huge grass area with many trees perfect... More

This is a wonderful spot to take pictures of the lake with the mountains on the background. Lots of people running so just watch that you don't get bumped into. Very nice to spend an afternoon

It's an awesome place, but if you want to go cycling you'll have to deal with the people walking on the bicycle lanes. Usually tourists are distracted by the scenery and don't even notice they are putting themselves and their families at risk. If you MUST walk on the bike lane, ALWAYS remain to the right and ALWAYS look back... More

With almost 8km of tracks to walk, run or cycle, this lagoon (and not a lake) offers spectacular views of the surrounding hills. It's always busy with locals enjoying the track or simply playing and exercising around its shores. There are plenty of bars and places to eat light meals or just for drinking a Suco de Fruta (fruit juice)... More

This in my opinion is one of the more appealing areas of Rio. It was beautiful every time we drove past. We planned on spending a day riding a hire bike around the lake while drinking and eating our way around. This was unsuccessful as we could not work out how to release the hire bikes. You need to download... More

Yes, the lagoon is beatiful, and in it’s 7km long you will be able to see a lot of gorgeous views, but to mee it’s just a place to see and be seen. If you really want to run, or ride a bicycle, or even see a really beautiful place while you do all this, you’d go to “Aterro do... More

But not only..: free gym, free tennis court, even free soccer court. Quiet, magnificent sunset, good restaurants and bars too. Everything you need in a hand. One of the best carioca's neighborhood, really quiet. For everyone.
