Some Brazilian friends recommended us going with our little daughter to a playgroud area called "Parque dos Patims" situated at Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. A taxi from Copacabana cost us around US$ 6. The setting is spetacular, and there were several choices of plays for my daughter. We rant a kind of bike for 2 adults and 2 children and... More

Extremely beautiful place, with many people walking or biking. It's nice to take a stroll or simply drive by.

It is FOR SURE one place you never forget. It is the place for tourists and cariocas to hang out. Lots of options for babies, toddlers, kids, teens, young adults, parents and seniors. Really! It is crazy how this place can satisfy families and single people. Not only it has one of the most espetacular view in RJ, it has... More

Altough the view was very nice and we had a very nice walk through Lagoa, unfortunately the water wasn't clean and had a very bad smell. Manu fish were dead and it showed to be very ugly to the people who were walking by.

We are about to end our expat life in Rio, and living across from the Lagoa is one of the most memorable experiences that we will treasure forever. PLEASE DO AN ENTIRE WALK AROUND OF IT WHEN YOU VISIT RIO. YOU WILL LOVE IT!

We rented a swan pedal boat and watched the sun go down over the sugarloaf, and it was one of my favourite parts of our trip to Rio. Apparently the lake is too polluted to swim in though which is a shame, but there's a nice trail around it to walk/run/cycle.

It's a nice flat loop around the lake, very calm, with nice views, great for walking and running. The loop is around 7 km or about 5 miles. And it's free.

It's beautiful. You can rent a pedal for two people or as a family if you are in bigger groups. It will cost you 50 dollars for the family size pedal (in the format of a swan or duck). Have fun for 30 minutes. The area is safe but always watch yourself and your friends...
