While everyone is busy flocking to Ipanema and Copacabana, some of the best views IMO can be had from Arpoador Beach. It is one end of Ipanema beach ( that in a way connects to Copacabana) and generally not visible if you don't look hard !!! but once you get there, you will be amaze by the panoramic views of... This is a small, but nice beach to visit in Rio. You can considered the same beach than Ipanema cause is the same sand, but is the left side of Ipanema Beach. There is a big rock to walk and you can see one of the best sunset of your life.

When in Rio, you can't miss going to Arpoador beach. It is breathtaking. Walking (or jogging) from there to the end of Leblon is a must do.

A place with a beautiful sunset view, and surfers. It is quiet because the access is only by foot. Monkeys are looking for food and other objects to steal!

This beach faces west, on the opposite side of copacabana . The best place in Rio to watch a sunset. The walking paths are very well maintained and the traffic doesn't affect the tranquility .

Arpoador Beach is a place so so nice. I suggest the restaurant "Azul Marinho", because has also a good (very good) cuisine and you can apreciate the view and stay there to see the sunset.

The Arpoador beach marks the northeastern limit of the best known Ipanema beach. In the small extention of white coarse soft sand and in the rocks and man-made decks you can see people surfing day and night. Its strong rip currents and waves (especially near the rocks) make it a bit inapropriated for kids, but they will have fun with... More

Arpoador Beach is in between Ipanema and Copacabana Beaches. Access is easier from the Ipanema side. It is a bit crowded at sunset. By far the best shots of ipanema and leblon are taken from this end of the beach. Loved it a must for all romantics and photo shoot professionals.Plenty of good quality accommodation and eating options available near... More

A great place to watch the sunset, really beautiful. However, it's very crowded, so get there early if you want to have a nice place to sit and relax.

Connecting Ipanema and Copacabana, Arpoador is a nice place to walk along side the rocks. It's also got some of the most intense waves in the area, which makes it one of Rio's top surfing spots. Sunset is pretty and it would indeed be a romantic place for a couple, but don't expect a lot of seclusion. This is an... More
