...and enjoy a day in communion qith nature, in the heart of the city of Rio! Yes, there's a small admission fee, but it's well worth it, to spend the day walking around this Botanical Garden. There are giant ipe trees, palm trees, and just about every other type of tree, plant and flower you can imagine. Recommended.

This is a must visit. For a nice walk, nice rest, nice break in the middle of the day, the stunning Botanical Gardens has it all. Very nice species including giant bamboos and a lot of impressive palm trees. I recommend a visit in the morining befire ti gest too crowded. Easy to reach by onibus !

This was a beautiful, peaceful place to spend a couple hours on our tour of Rio de Janeiro. There are many varieties of trees and plants from all over the world. The orchids are gorgeous. I haven't the patience or talent to grow them myself, so it was wonderful to see the beautiful varieties there. The gardens also feature a... More

Be sure you know exactly where you are going, we didn't feel too safe in the area around the park. Once inside you are at peace, there are beautiful statues and fountains, and gorgeous plants everywhere. We had some ice cold water and cake at the cafe, which is great. Perfect place to chill out and feel at peace in... More

A wonderful cared-for garden with fountains, ponds, mandarin monkeys, orchids, cacti, bromeliads and more. Seeing some toucans in the mature trees of the park added to the charm. We had guides showing us around that were not from the park but supposedly you can get your own (free?) guide when you visit. For those who enjoy nature and want to... More

We had a wonderful afternoon here walking along the paths, enjoying the lakes and fountains and even though there weren't a lot of flowers blooming, the trees and other plants were so nice. We also enjoyed the orchid and bromeliad houses. We were here about 2 hours and maybe could have spent another half hour, but they close at 5... More

You could spend hours in these beautiful gardens. They were fantastic and full of information but make sure you ask for a map on entry as we spent about 20 minutes looking for a toilet due to the poor sign posts! It was R$6 each on entry but you could spend as long as you wished inside and there were... More

A beautiful garden with plenty to see. Take your camera as there are plenty of opportunities to use the flora for backdrops to photos. Highly recommended.
