This is one of my favorite places in Rio de Janeiro to relax and stay away from the city stress and noise. Truly recommend it if you want to see many different water features, trees and plants and have a nice time with your companion around this nature.

We were fortunate to get places on the bus ride around the gardens with a well informed guide who spoke and explained things in both Portuguese and English. Certainly not a place for flower displays but very well laid out arboretums.

A nice place to go and just relax. Lots of beautiful palms, flowers +++ everything you would expect.. only thing that dissapointed us was that we didnt see any animals... i guess they hid from us. But a nice place to get away from the city stress!

Quite reflective place (when i went) with a wide range of trees and plants Not the biggest Japanese garden in the world ...... Overall I would recommend but don't kill yourself if you don't do it if your time is limited in Rio

A visit to the botanical gardens a must for visitors to Rio! It has sections which show off all the regions of Brazil. The Orchid house alone makes the trip worthwhile. Many water features are scattered throughout the gardens. Apart from the plants and trees, there are many species of birds and monkeys. For those seeking to flee the fast... More

opened at 19th century by the king of portugal when living here, with palm trees put there by himself (main alley). It is a marvellous garden, with special places, like the orchidarium, the herbarium, two extraordinary lakes, two nice coffee shops. There are groups who practice martial arts and also yoga, there. Allowed to watch. Do not miss specially the... More

A peaceful place in which to take a relaxing walk, surrounded by tropical (and other) greenery. Nice view of Christ the Redeemer, too. At R$6 for the entrance fee, it's worth spending half a day strolling around and appreciating nature.

Very nice garden. A lot of effort has been put into maintenance. You can easily spend a half day here, just walking around and relaxing.

You can take a look at the pictures of contributors and get an idea about this beautiful park. If you like nature and photography, you'll love it. This park is not very far from Copacabana and it definitely worth the time.
