At visit the charge was 7 Rio's. Remember you only receive small notes. A girl trying to pay with a 100 note, and got rejected. A good place for a walk with hangover and green spots. I like roses, and did not see them, while I was their, maybe not in season, or another place.

Well worth a few hours strolling in the park. Water features are lovely. Orchid house interesting. Take a break at the the Bicyclette cafe for a light lunch.

After reading all the excellent reviews, my wife an I visited the Jardim Botanico with high expectations. We paid our 7 Reals and entered. The layout was beautiful and many of the trees are well established. We sought out the Orchid house with high anticipation and found a paltry few orchids on a circular stand, surrounded by water and approachable... More

It's definitely worth paying a visit at the Botanical Garden. A short taxi ride from Copacabana (probably around R$25), I paid R$6 to get in. It's not too crowded. The park is well maintained with various tasteful arrangements. It takes me an hour half to walk through the park. I am surprised to see quite a few pregnant women having... More

We went here as part of a jeep tour that took in the gardens and the rain forest and were totally amazed. Our guide, Linda, was both knowledgable and interesting telling us about history and culture as well as the plants. A trip not to be missed!

Went here for a change from the chaos of Rio. It was beautiful, quiet, and thoroughly enjoyable. The grounds are nicely maintained and we enjoyed the gardens, the birds and people watching. A nice break for us...

Since it is a botanical garden in tropical area, I expected frankly speaking some unique, spectacular flora and maybe even fauna, but no of my expectations has been met. But I got no cance to say WOW which I did a lot of times in the Tenerife botanical garden for instance. Everything looks suitable for ordinary city park, not for... More

We visited on our last day in Rio. Apart from being a cheap destination, it was well worth going in that the gardens are well laid out, theres a huge range of planting and some really interesting exhibits (medicinal garden). It needs more investment and it's hot (bring water).

I spent a morning with a Rio guide in this beautiful garden. It was a real pleasure to visit, particularly to see the many trees/ plants only found in Brazil & to understand something of their history. I only wish I had had more time to enjoy the garden. Highly recommended
