The best view above Rio

The best view above Rio. It is pricy to get up their, if you walk it should talk around 30 minutes. I would let everyone know they should not miss this out!

Great view, fun ride, try to go when there are fewer people (not weekends and between 11am and 1pm -missing tour buses and main traffic).

Since Rio de Janeiro is mot very beautiful on street level, the best thing you can do is to go up the mountain and se its natural beauty from above. The ride in the cable car is nice and the view is fantastic. There is also a café on the top and souvenir shops so you can spend a little... More

Fantastic 'must do' experience. Make sure the weather is ok when you choose to go up. If it's cloudy you won't see anything, On a clear day the views over the city are incredible and once up at the top you could easy spend a few hours simply sitting staring down on the wonderful city of Rio

It's okay, go and do it. Tick it off. Be ready for queues. Views good, and if yiu've. To been in a cable car, that'll be new. But for us, it was a necessary evil really, glad to have done it but deffo a once only experience!

We went midweek mid afternoon and it wasn't too crowded (Christ the redeemer was the opposite so many people clamouring over everyone else for that selfie with the monument) it was too hot and there was a lovely breeze, would definitely recommend a trip stop sit for a while take in the views take some food and enjoy an afternoon... We had a private tour guide His name is Julio. He would come every day for 8 hours and take us around in Rio. One day it was raining all day so he suggested that we not go to the Botanical gardens and instead took us to a quint shopping place.

If you are lucky enough to have a clear day you have superb views try to get to the Gondola station early to avoid crowds

Well worth the visit. If possible arrive early morning in order to beat the rush (8am) and find parking. If so, your visit and subsequent departure will likely miss the crowds. Ensure you stop at each level to enjoy the views and even keep an eye out for the monkeys (level 1). Lots of signs to not feed the animals... More
