If you're reading reviews on this then you don't know what Pao de Açucar is. No review nor discussion or thinking is needed. This is an absolute must-go, plain and simple. If you go to Rio and you don't go there then you haven't been to Rio. Period. Some will think the price is steep (was it 62 BRL per... More

This is definitely a must-see if you are visiting Rio! It boasts gorgeous views of both the Copacabana beach and the lagoon.

From the very top you get the best view in the world. Full stop. Even the view from Table Mountain in Cape Town on a totally clear day can't compare. Stunning. Cable cars fun and easy too, though prepare for queues.

We always tend to do these types of tourist things in the morning, but another traveller actually recommended we stay for the sunsets. So we did both! We took a deck of cards, a book, and such - and we stayed the whole day. The monkeys are awesome. The views are spectacular, and the sunsets were gorgeous. Beware mosquitoes.

Awesome views of the surrounding area. Quick and easy access, with short queues to the cable car). Possible to spend hours there, as restaurants on site.

Ok, so it's not quite as high up as the Corcovado mountain (where the Christ the Redeemer stands), but the views of Rio de Janeiro here are fantastic. And it's a lot less crowded than Corcovado. You can even hang around in a bar on the Morro da Urca (the first stop on the cable car, the mountain before Sugarloaf)... More

When in Rio, this, along with Cristo Redentor, is a not-to-miss site. We were not too decided at first to go worried about the height and the safety of the cable cars but we were glad we did. Two cable car rides; standing up but very comfortable. Visitors can go on their own or join a tour like we did.... More

This is the one of the two most famous places in Rio and it deserves it. I think it was the best. The stunning views are very great. Very photo-scenic. We spend 3 hours there and it didn't feel like that. Time went so fast there with scenics all around.

People may tell you it's not worth doing Sugar Loaf and Christ the Redeemer. That's daft. They are both worth doing and anyway, what would you tell people when you get home. "I went all the way to Rio and didn't go up Sugar Loaf???!!!"

What an amazing place with 360 degrees views of Rio de Janeiro. Make sure to go on a day that the skies are clear so you can have a clear view of the city, beaches, ocean and mountains surrounding this magical city.
