It is recommended to book it through an online agency (like the ones here at tripadvisor). If you do so, the line would be quick (like 5 or 10 minutes tops). You take the funicular and to go up to a "morro" (mountain), where you have some city, beaches, and sugar loaf views. Then you take another funicular where you... More

This could have been really amazing, but we ran into a logistical issue. The ticket window on Urca (the first little mountain) is closed. A tour guide told us we could hike to the first viewpoint on Urca and it was a great hike and took about 25 minutes total. When we got to the top...we found out they no... More

The queues here tend not to be as long as they are for the Corcovado (Christ statue), but the views are just as spectacular, if not more so. The bondinho (cable car) that you take to go up is expensive, but ultimately a fun experience and one you probably won't regret. The top of the taller mountain is larger than... More

To stay the views were breathtaking is an understatement! Once at the top you have a 360 degree view of Rio and all of its beaches. It cost around £12 to ride up on the cable car and back to the bottom. However, we walked back down to bottom which was great, especially as we saw monikers playing and rio... More

Just been there for the second time and I'll return as many times I can! The best view in town and a very pleasant ride in the cable car. Take your time and spend some nice moments up the mountain.

My tour guide took me there early and there were no crowds. Getting to the top of sugar loaf mountain is also a lot of fun. It's a beautiful panoramic view of most of Rio and my tour guide pointed out all the different suburbs of Rio

the view and surrounding nature is fantastic, but we ended up atop the mountain well past sunset...our mistake, and one that we will not make again.

Lived up to expectations...no need to spend too much time up there...views amazing...all quite well organized so we did not have to spend too much time waiting to get to the top.

The views from the top are absolutely gorgeous. Don't miss it for your life if you are in Rio. A bit expensive though, just like so many other things on Rio.
