Arpoador almost always has surf and if there isnt any you can walk to the Praia do Diabo which is just to the left hand side.. Lots of tourists and places to rent boards and bodyboards on the beach. Get a few beers and watch the sunset from the rocks at Arpoador and life is good :)

You need to check the sunset in Arpoador at least once. Give preference to see it on the rocks. Its beautiful.

Best place to watch a nice Sunset in the most beautiful city on earth. Its located between Ipanema and Copacabana beach, its a quiet place to contemplate one of the Post Cards from Rio de Janeiro.

Beautiful to watch the sunset. Stay untill it gets dark and the city gets illuminated. It is very safe. You'll have a good view of Ipanema and Leblon.

Great photo spots for Ipanema beach, and great place to just sit and soak up all that is going on around you - paddle tennis, surfing, paddle boarding, sailing, body surfing, swimming, jumping off the rocks, chasing birds, flying kites, building sandcastles, vendors, music, dancing, volleyball, you name it, it's happening here and Arpoador is the perfect viewing spot.

There is nothing like watching the sun setting from the rocks located on the end of this unique urban peninsula which stick out between famous Ipanema and Copacabana neighbourhoods. The beach in front of Hotel Arpoador is one of the nicest spots. Act like a 'carioca': clap your hands while the sun sets on the horizon!

Sunset is to be remembered looking out from this beach, quite extraordinary. Plenty of bars nearby, worth planing your schedule.

This is a rock outcropping between Copacabana and Ipanema. It nice, well maintained, and provides great views of both beaches. I would have spent more time here had I had more time to spend.
