nice place at the end of the beach to see the entire beach and ocean view --- safe during the day... lots of security
If you are at this end of Ipanema beach, this is not a bad spot to grab a cold coconut or an adult beverage and watch the sunset. The rocks can be slippery so I recommend wearing shoes with some type of traction. I watched the sunset from these rocks, but also from the beach. Not much different. The sunset... More
Super romantic and very beautiful. Spent many days and nights here enjoying the weather, views and especially the sunset.
Easily one of the prettiest places in the city to see a Rio sunset, particularly during the week when it's calmer, or in the off season, when there aren't too many people around! The beach itself is safe but there were gangs of roving youths that were invading all the beaches in Zona Sul (Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon & Arpoador) the... More
wothwhile to be visited, mainly in the end of afternoon, where one can see and witness the sunset in the west horizon.
Nice to watch the sunset from the beach or from the top of the Arpoador rock. It is a very good surf point. Preferably go during the week days, when the locals are majority. During weekends the crowds arriving from the suburbs take over because there are many bus stops nearby and the risks can rise a little bit. In... More
There's a BIG rock in the end of the Arpoador, besides enjoying the beach (not one the famous ones) you can go there just to relax and wait for another gorgeous sunset, locals go there and applause "the spectacle"
This lies at the Copacabana end of Ipanema, sheltered by a rock outcrop and facing West. The entire length of the beaches of both Ipanema and Leblon lie before you, and in mid-Spring (and presumably Autumn/Fall) the sun sets over the peaks of Dois Irmaos and Pedre de Gavea. What more can you ask for? Oh, the views from on... More
We went there late afternoon, for the sunset. It is amazing! Very simple though. Good to walk on the seashore and sidewalks nearby too.
I love the Arpoador beach. From there we have one of my favorite views in Rio: the beautiful beaches of Ipanema and Leblon, the Dois Irmãos and the Pedra da Gavea mountains, and the spectacular sunset everyday...People clap their hands for the sunset! And in addition, Arpoador has a nice bar Azul Marinho, with tables on the sidewalk, from where... More
