You will have to compete for the best spot, but it is worth it! Located between Copacabana and Ipanema, and accessible only by walking, the rocks of the promontory is surely to give you the best sunset view you can get in Rio! The bay of Ipanema and Leblon, as well as the Favela Vidigal, can all be seen clearly... More

The rocks where Ipanema begins it’s the place where you should be during the sunset in Rio. Great place to take pictures and enjoy a drink, specially with your loved one. Don’t go there for the beach…not good!

This is where Ipanema begins and where likely your walk starts if you come by metro. From there you can walk the whole beach without ever getting bored of it, or you may just want to take a dip in the ocean as the water is realy clean and fresh. Awesome.

One of the most romantic places in Rio, going just an half an hour or so before the sunset, buy yourself some drink ( or take them with you) an go to the Arpoador rocks. There above you have first he fantastic view of the most of the time spectaculair sunset, the lighting makes it after that in combination with... More

The place to be during the afternoons, waiting for the sunset, Arpoador, its a great place if you want to take some really good pictures while enjoying a drink. Nothing fancy, with lots of street food joints, its a nice place to admire the true carioca culture of afternoon football and red sunsets....

One of the most amazing sunsets you will ever see. Buy a caipirinha, walk to the Arpoador, sit down and enjoy the view. Don't forget to clap once the show is over ;)

The busy end of Ipanema beach. I recommend visiting it during the week when it is far less crowded. Weekends can become chaotic. Leave all valuables at home and cary enough money to buy the essentials like chair, umbrella, food and drink.

Its a free tour when u just have to walk and up at the Arpoador (between Ipanema and Copacabana). Go there at the end of the afternoon and enjoy your own moment there. On the weekends is always full, so if can go at the week it will be better.
