We joined a group of six other people through cruise critic for a one day tour of Rio highlights, a dinner and a drive to the airport. Sound good? The day was disastrous from the start as we waited a long time for Lisa to show up and then we had to lug our cruise luggage several blocks to the... More

We, my daughter and I, visiting Rio at the end of September 2015. We had beautiful weather. We were for private tours with Lisa during 2 days just in the town. We see so much things like, Christ Redeemer, Botanical Garden, Santa Teresa, Historical Center, take the bridge to Niteroi, Contemporary Museum, watch Rio from a mountain in Niteroi and... More

Lisa organized for me to participate in a guided day tour which took us to the Statue of Christ the Redeemer and to the Sugar Top, amongst many other places. At noon we were served an excellent lunch in Copacabana. The guide was excellent in every way.

We did a walking tour booked by our hotel of Santa Theresa and the Lapa area. Our tour guide was Igor and he was very informative and easy going. He made sure we enjoyed the tour and adapted tour our needs. We felt a bit rushed at the end as Igor had another tour he had to get to right... More

Igor was our guide on this walking tour and he was very good. He had a natural enthusiasm for his City and Country. We saw most if not all of the remains of the old Rio. Santa Teresa seemed to be " closed" so that part was a it of a waste. Disappointingly when we came to settle at the... More

We took the tour of the Santa Teresa neightborhood, the Selaron steps, and the Lapas neighborhood with Luiz from Lisa Tours. He was fantastic -- knowledgeable about everything from history to football, answering questions on literally any topic we had, and offering historical notes and social color that really made the neighborhoods come alive. The combination of walking tour and... More

Today we had Martin as our English speaking tour guide for a private Best of Rio tour. He knows his history of Brazil and current events both within and outside of the country. It made for an informative and stimulating day. We did everything promised and were spared wasting time going out for a long lunch when we could figure... More

Different guides, different tours. We took Lisas city tour, a pretty intense tour. Lisa talks as fast as she walks. This means You get to see an awful lot on a city tour with her. So You get really good value for Your money here. It started off a bit awkward as we were told we were going on a... More

We booked Lisa for a private tour on a day when we checked out of our hotel and had a night flight. She arrived on time in a nice van with a driver and took us straight to the botanical garden. Her narration here was excellent, and we recommend visiting even though it rained most of our visit. The rain... More

I followed the advise of Trip Advisor and booked a 8 hs tour of some of the Rio attractions. After the initial contact it became increasingly difficult to contact Lisa by e-mail or phone. The price of the airport transfer changed continuously. Upon arrival, as promised, she was at the airport with a driver. The next day, the day of... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
