My wife is an amazing cook and is always trying t get me into the kitchen to cook. She thought this would be a good way to introduce us to food from my homeland and get me interested. The class with Simone certainly didn't disappoint; with her unique teaching style, full of local history and anecdotes along with excellent tips.... More

I am SOOO thrilled that my husband and I found Simone and her Cook In Rio class during our trip to Brazil. From start to finish it was one of the most memorable experiences from our week-long visit. Simone and her team were so welcoming, accommodating, kind, interesting and we learned so much. Simone's insight on Brazilian/Carioca culture and life... More

I always like to take a cooking class when I'm in a new country to learn more about the local people...AND I love to eat. This class didn't disappoint! Not only did I learn how to make some very simple and delicious Brazilian dishes, but got an impromptu samba lesson and had a great conversations about life, travel and got... More

I can't even begin to explain how excited I was to take a cooking class while visiting Rio! Simone is fabulous! She shares Brazilian culture, food and the influences of other cultures on the great dishes of Brazil. She is funny, witty, engaging and really enjoys learning about people. We made Feijoada and caipirinha two staples of Brazil.. I only... More

We spent a wonderful morning at Cook in Rio learning how to make wonderful Brazilian dishes. Chef Simone was so easy to listen to and explained everything so well. In addition, she gave us insights into many aspects of shopping and cooking. We had a pretty large class and everyone got to contribute and help out with the cooking and... More

My fiancee and I were in Rio over Christmas 2014 and had a wonderful time with Simone! We were with two other students, so the class was very small. We cooked two appetizers and two main dishes with sides. Everyone had a chance to prepare some part of the meal. The food was absolutely amazing. The fried cheese and flambé... More

First we must send our apologies for the very belated review! We did the Cook in Rio class on our honeymoon in 2012. At first we ran into trouble as we had booked online but on arrival no one was there. Fortunately Simone happened to be coming back from the markets at that very moment and caught us at the... More

Spent a few hours at Cook In Rio and Chef Simone's knowledge of the Brazillian culture and food was both entertaining and informative. I thoroughly enjoyed the food that was prepared. The only suggestion I have for her is to send us home with the recipes for the dishes we made. Once I returned stateside, it has been hard for... More

Not to offend anyone but Cook in Rio is the most fun you can have in Rio with your clothes on. Chef Simone has not only conquered the art of Brazilian cooking but she has mastered the art of teaching and making cooking fun...much in the same way Julia Child mastered French cooking and US television. Simone should have her... More

In a city, full of exciting things to do Simone’s cooking class should be on the top of anyone’s Rio itinerary. Her passion for cooking and her ability to weave in insightful tidbits of the culture and history of Brazil while teaching us how to create fabulous dishes leads to a very fun, entertaining, and informative day! Highly recommended for... More
