Sometimes the weather is not beach worthy and you are tired of staying out till 3 am drinking caipirinhas... this is a great alternative for a relaxed night "in"! Simone made the 4 hours go by so quickly. She kept us laughing and entertained the whole time. It wasn't as hands on and other cooking classes I went to, however,... More

Whether you are a person who loves to cook or -like me- just prefers to watch others cook you will love this experience. Chef Simone is a great cook, full of information about the local cuisine and culture and very, very funny. You are actively involved in the preparation. On the evening I went the main course was fish based-... More

Chef Simone is lively, fun, exciting and lovely! I took my mum on this excursion as I hate to cook! But I actually really really enjoyed it! Mum had a fabulous time too. Chef Simone is very inclusive, high energy and you get to make some great local foods. Definately recommend it :)

We attended a late afternoon session. We were greeted by Simone who is a spark of energy. The room is small but intimate (for cooking) and the walls are filled with names of former visitors to her class. I like this. Simone not only involved us in the Brazilian cooking but spoke of the Brazilian culture. We also learned how... More

This is a great way to spend a few hours. Simone is keen to ensure you understand Brazilian culture as well as the food and has lots of entertaining stories. It's not a serious cooking course as some of the cooking is done by simone without you realising. She doesn't hand out the recipes in advance so you can't make... More

Very mixed feelings on this one. I've been to a few cooking courses, and this one was unique. unfortunately there was no air conditioning in the room so it got a bit hot and uncomfortable. The 'hands on' was limited, and focused on doing a few basic veg preparations, which didn't teach me much. There were some tips on what... More

I learned more about brazilian culture, food and lifestyle in one evening than I could have thought possible, and all over the most delicious, excellent quality food and drinks to be had. Our host, Chef Simone, speaks perfect English, with a beautiful brazilian accent. The caiparhinas were of the best quality and plentiful. The food! I don't cook, and even... More

Great intoduction to Brazilian cuisine. A well organized, hands on class in a brightly colored space in Copacabana. We prepared a delicious, 3-course meal with wonderful fresh ingredients. Chef Simone shared insights about Brazilian history and culture, too! Would be happy to take another one of her classes the next time I'm in Rio.

If you love food, you will always check out the food situation in the country you're visiting! So amongst other foodie things, we came across this cooking course. We booked it for the day before we went home so the recipes were fresh in our minds. Simone was an enthusiastic chef and taught us not only about food and the... More

A co-worker booked a class for us on a work trip. At first I didn't think I'd want to take a class but I was surprised at how great a time it was and how much fun I had. Chef Simone was great and her English (and other languages) is perfect- I mention this because I speak a little Portuguese... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
