A little bit hidden place in the north of Paraty. There is a little white church and a small parking place from which you have to walk more or less 15 minutes to the water fall. Some native kids will show you how to use the natural slide :-). It is impressive and definitely worth to walk to this place.... More

This was seriously amazing - we took a cab from the historical center to Cachoeria Toboga. Took us a few minutes to find the path leading there, but came upon a little trail and heard the water before we saw it. I was the only female there (go figure :)), but saw a bunch of teenage kids sliding and jumping... More

Local bus to Penha will take you there or there is a minivan that leaves from the vacant lot across the street from the bus station. Great scenery and the water slide is definitely an enjoyable sight. Highly recommended. Poinsettias were growing native by the distillery on the other side of the street from the falls..

We took the local bus to the falls leaving from the bus station. They only run about every hour or hour and a half. Had we known about the more frequent local minibuses that run to the falls we would have asked where to get one from. They do not go from the bus station. The water slide was a... More

Read all these reviews and its make me think I must be a wimp ! So yes, you can slide down it, but looks to me like if you end up on the right hand side, you end up head on into rocks as you land when the gradual slide steepens. I'm sure great fun....but not one I'd go down...but... More

We didn't want to wait for the bus (they don't go every hour......), so we took a taxi as family of four, which was quick and only 40 reals. It is easy to find. Bit slippery trail in the rain, but worth it. There is a nice bar at the top, with refreshments, food and bathrooms. The natural pool was... More

We took the local bus from Paraty, and had a fun afternoon. We went for a walk knowing there was a rock slide, but not exactly sure where. When we came across it there was just 2 guys ahead of us who we watched slide down, it looked fun so we tried and that was it we were hooked. We... More

Take the local bus but it only goes up there every 1.5 hours, so try to find the schedule for PENHA or there are mini vans that drive more frequently. Make sure to explore by the bar, there is a big rock jump and swimming pool!

Very nice and relaxing and very good setting to watch the waterfalls. Go before the tour landrovers arrive which is around 11am and you will have the whole falls to yourself!

The jeep picked us up and we started at a botanical garden which was not very impressive but as soon as we got to Toboga Waterfalls, things turned around. It was a bit scary to see everyone sliding down the huge rocks and into the water but after sucking up my fear and convincing some guy that I'd only go... More
