Really enjoyed this and it is easier than it looks. Manageable for everyone - you don't have to be a surfer chick or chico! You feel like you've had a work out after too - it uses alot of your body. Great fun, no stress, get a tan whilst doing it and because the boat takes you out you are... More

Most operators in Paraty offer tours in a 4x4 or a schooner. Paraty Explorers covers similar areas but allows you to do it in more environmentally friendly way, and you get some good exercise along the way! We took a bus and small boat and hiked up the Mamangua Sugarloaf (reviewed separately). Other excursions are available. They offer walking, kayaking... More

We hiked along gorgeous beaches, to stunning waterfalls and in thick forest. Our overnights were spent in a beautiful fishing village of 300 people, with no electricity or internet. It was a wonderful and unique experience to witness their lives, watch them fish, and enjoy their beautiful village. Our guide spoke great english and could translate for us in the... More

The previous reviews pretty much sum it up. I too had been in contact with Michael months prior to arriving in Brazil. He was responsive and even helped us find plans for New Year's Eve. My wife and I did the Gold Trail (great way to get history lesson on the area) and the trip to Sono beach which was... More

My brother and I had an AWESOME trip. Michael the owner treated us like family. We got exceptional service with great value and laughed the whole time. We took a 3 day hike to Ponta Negra, saw some amazing scenery, swam at secluded beaches, and climbed waterfalls. We even got to go net fishing with the locals. Back in Paraty... More

I was interested in finding an accessible area to enjoy a natural experience in Brazil. Paraty is it! Paraty is full of islands and secluded tropical beaches. With Paraty Explorer I was able to experience this area in my preferred method of travel, sea kayak. They provided expert guiding with a solid connection to the local culture and environment. Our... I'm so glad we included this kayaking trip in our visit to Brazil. The colonial town of Paraty was beautiful and we really enjoyed the guided tour. The kayaking and hiking on this trip was an adventurous and fun way to have some exercise. The scenery was beautiful! Our favorite part were dinners outside right on the bay with everyone... More

I exchanged many emails with Michael the owner of Paraty explorer in the months leading up to my trip to Brazil. He responded to every email with timeliness and great information. My travel partner and I weren't sure if we had the time and budget to take a multi-night trip with Paraty Explorer. Michael suggested alternate itineraries that gave us... More

We really enjoyed the trip - kayaking for 5 days with our wonderful guide Rodrigo. Our highlights were..... the golden beaches and warm water, sitting in the waterfall and letting the water massage my back, being shown our bedroom and realizing there was just candlelight and we were living off the grid for 4 nights, kayaking in the swells around... The Gold Trail Hike was the highlight of my 2 week trip to Brazil. My party of 2 joined another party of 4 people for an afternoon guided tour of the Gold Trail, which included a walk along the trail, a swim in a waterfall pool, and a visit to a cachaça distillery. Bringing a camera and a swim option... More
