Beautiful ocean beach, with food service on the sand with seating and shade available. You may even get a good day without waves (if your preference is like mine!). It is close to a residential and quiet area, far from a big city center.

I love Camboinhas. It is a wonderful beach in Niterói, very close to the Rio de Janeiro. The best time to attend it are from May through September. These are the coldest months in Rio de Janeiro (15-30 degrees C) and for this reason the beach is empty. Besides the beautiful scenery there are small restaurants on the beach where... More

Camboinhas beach is a nice place for families to have fun. Most of the time calm, the sea is good for swimming and reafreshing baths. However, sometimes it is very dirty due to pollution without proper conditions for bathers. Around the boardwalk visitors also may pratice cycling, jogging, skating, etc. There are also kiosks where you can buy food and... More

The absence of public transport has always meant that Camboinhas has a more selected crowd. The kiosks and the promenade are also contributing to keep it civilised, and all in all if you are on the Niteroi side of the bay this is probably one of the better options. Shame that when the tide ebbs from Rio bay, the water... More

Camboinhas is absolutely stunning! Besides, it is far from the frenzy of Copacabana. They have great bars in there with delicious food, the beach is clean and calm. The kids love to spend the day in there. Its always my choice for the weekends.

Calm, buses are not allowed. There are a lot of quiosques along the beach that offer free tables and chairs. You can eat some fish, drink a beer or just relax The view is amazing. Only try to avoid it during sundays in the summer. Or, try to arrive early to get a nice spot! Calm water, great view, great for... More

Nice place , remote relaxed and with less waves than places like itacoatiara. GO early and enjoy less crowd. Beautifull scenery of RIo . on the left side of the beach before Itaipu there is a smal indian village .not for surfers .

It is where the locals like to go. Usually the water is clean, sometimes the waves are calm, and you stay way from the crowd, seeing Copacabana far way.
