This place is Perfect to swim and see the fishes. I think it must be better to go there when there are less visitors, because many boats stay there when there are many visitors and the trip become less interesting.

The lagoa is green! Not blue, not turquoise! The water in this whole area between Angra dos Reis and Ilha Grande is green. Don't know the other side of the island haven't been there. What you see on the trip advisor photo is the color. The travel agencies has photos that water looks like Maldives or Barhamas, its NOT. Only... More

An obligatory stop for anyone who goes to Ilha Grande. One of the best places to snorkelling. We could see a lot of fishes and a turtle, even that the place was a little crowded. Great place to take some beautiful photos too. However, it's kind of a complicated place for those who don't know how to swim.

Weather sucked so I can't give a good review. I'm sure it is nice when it is not raining. We did see fish while snorkeling.

My husband and I went on a boat tour to the blue lagoon on March 9th 2013. To our dismay, the water was greenish and so sturred up from all the boats. Not at all like the pictures portray. The weather was beautiful so no one can blame that. Very little fish. Please do not get your hopes up for... More

There is a full day tour with several stops, that is worth doing. Lagoa Azul for me was the highlight of it. I went in low season, June, so didn´t have the crowd problem, there were a couple of boats besides us, to see something snorkeling beside small fishes I had to swim a little bit away from the group... Beautiful little paradise, where the water is deep and crystal clear and there are many types of fish you can hand feed.

Place is nice, but crowded. I believe in you can see more underwater life if the sun is really strong.
