This beach is nice because it is surrounded by vegetation, with little construction - just one restaurant and a few basic beach bars. Parking can be difficult on busy days. Careful with the beach bars: this was the only place, in Búzios, where I ever felt being ripped off (poor service followed by overcharging).

The Tartaruga beach is beautiful place, it have restaurant and bar to drink, but don't have toilet. The sea is hot then another beach around. Have a good time there.

Great beach for snorkeling. The water is very beautiful and has several choirs. Rent dive or a board to do the "stand up". The price compared to other beaches is much cheaper. The beach is a bit tucked away, you can stop in a parking lot or on the street close to the beach.

SUMMARY - Go to the west side of the beach for the best experience. - Stunningly warm water - Beautiful view - Hidden charges on the deck chairs (see below) - Music by deck chairs is annoying REVIEW Unless you prefer a noisy, tourist-focused vibe, the west side of the beach is by far the best part. If you arrive... More

There are definitely much nicer beaches in Buzios. This one was very rocky and I couldn't walk into the water without hurting my feet! The water wasn't very clear and compared to the other beaches, the service was not very good either.

We took a taxi from the centre to this beach (20 real) as weren't having much luck navigating ourselves there by foot! We arrived a bit before sunset, the beach was clearing out and the waves were high. The water is lovely and warm and we had loads of fun jumping and surfing in the waves. The water was seaweedy... This is a very pretty beach and we loved it. It's very family-oriented so our kids had a great time. There are a few hawkers but that's okay... ...who doesn't need ice cream on a hot day?! :-) The umbrellas and chairs are provided by the restaurants and they are free. We sat down by Sol de Tataruga which is... More

This is a lovely beach, albeit not a great deal of sand when the tide is fully in. We found a wonderful little bar (I think it was called Sol da Tarturuga) about half way along the beach that had live music and served really fantastic fresh BBQ´d fish. The owner proudly presents his fresh fish, which you can chose... More

We rented some kayaks at Tartaruga beach and we got some goggles to do some snorkling. There was also a bar with a nice view on the ocean. The only point to add is that the beach is small but long and you end up quite quickly with your feet in the water when the tide is coming up.
