this is one of the city's main beaches. there are beautiful and chic hotels! the sunrise is beautiful. there is a beautifil viewpoint!!
This one is surrounded by excellent guesthouses and hotels and with some very good restaurants with its tables right on the sand near sho=re where one can order drinks and fingerfoods right there, with the water reaching your feet.
a small ,dirty beach with some chiringuitos (beach cabanas) that sell not so fresh seafood at waldorf astoria prices. unbelievably expensive for what it is (or rather not is) . a no go !
This is an easy beach to sit and spend a few hours if you don't mind crowds. Ordering a drink will get you some chairs and an umbrella and usually there's no pressure to keep buying more drinks. Lots of people watching, wading in the water and seeing an occasional tour boat go by. A fine relaxing afternoon for Buzios.
We were there in the peak holiday season and this place was packed- we moved on to barra beach - much better!, and less crowded!
We visited a few beaches in Buzios. They all get packed with people quickly. Joao Fernandinho was not the closest to us, but because it is small we took a chance to walk there in hope of less people and no regrets. The beach is not big and if you are there by 11 am there is plenty of space.... More
Make sure to walk down the beach and walk along the rocks out to where the boats park - great swimming in BLUE water. The restaurants there give you a free set of chairs and umbrella's as long as you grab a snack and drinks from them. Fun! (felt very LOCAL - not touristy)
