We take in birds which have been rescued from animal trafficking or are for some reason no longer able to survive in the wild. We give them a home in their beautiful native rainforest. We love huge aviaries. We think birds should be able to fly, and have a great social life, and feed on the best, fresh, organic diet possible. We then breed a new generation of birds which are capable of being released back into the wild (and we have a number of projects that do exactly that.) We also support projects and research throughout Brazil. We plant thousands of trees a year, restoring degraded Atlantic Rainforest. The Parque das Aves thinks that education is one of our most important tasks. Sometimes it's as simple as giving people direct contact with these beautiful birds. It's amazing what that can do. We also educate thousands of local schoolchildren a year in special programs. Thank you for supporting Parque das Aves. We couldn't do it without you. « less

10/10 for me. Easy to get to, bus 120 the same bus you take to Iguacu, just get off a stop early. Information was in English among other languages so it was well worth it getting the map and reading the signs. What I loved about it was that the park is a rehabilitation centre so your entry fee helps... More

The park is about 300m outside the entrance to Iguaçu (Falls) National Park (Brazil). Once thru the entrance there are extensive walkways that ensure you see all the attractions - ie the many birds (and a butterfly house). Birds are in reasonable sized cages, but many are in very large walk thru aviaries. There are some rare birds that are... More

This very special place was founded and constructed by a very generous South African couple according to our guide. They should be recognised for it. The layout and the wonderful way you can walk through open cages among some of the world's most exotic birds is something for every body who visits the area. It will enhance your experience of... I visited Iguacu for the falls, and they were one of the high points of my trip, but it would be a mistake to skip this park. It's really amazing to get up close and personal with the birds, and the park does a great job educating the public about nature, while studying and rehabilitating the animals that live there.... This bird zoo is very nice and one of the best in the world. The route through the zoo will get you inside the birds cage. The birds will be right at your side and some will interact with you. The humming bird cage is interesting because sometimes you do not see them but they will pass right by or... More

My two boys loved this park. Birds and more birds. Not too expensive and a three minute walk from the main gate to the Hotel das Cataratas and the Falls. The second aviary wih the toucans was our favorite. The last aviary is the largest and has the most birds, but was more hectic. At the exit, there are tame... More

Our driver suggested this Park on the way to the fall of Iguacu. It took only a couple of hours to walk through. We saw exotic birds we would never see in such a natural surrounding. They were talking, singing, and flying.

Great park, lots of beautiful birds from the region. The park is clean and well kept. The staff is friendly and helpful. Loved the huge aviaries where you could get really close to the birds.
