Description: Parque das Aves is a conservation project in the Atlantic Rainforest near...
Parque das Aves is a conservation project in the Atlantic Rainforest near Foz do Iguassu, Brazil. We take in birds which have been rescued from animal trafficking or are for some reason no longer able to survive in the wild. We give them a home in their beautiful native rainforest. We love huge aviaries. We think birds should be able to fly, and have a great social life, and feed on the best, fresh, organic diet possible. We then breed a new generation of birds which are capable of being released back into the wild (and we have a number of projects that do exactly that.) We also support projects and research throughout Brazil. We plant thousands of trees a year, restoring degraded Atlantic Rainforest. The Parque das Aves thinks that education is one of our most important tasks. Sometimes it's as simple as giving people direct contact with these beautiful birds. It's amazing what that can do. We also educate thousands of local schoolchildren a year in special programs. Thank you for supporting Parque das Aves. We couldn't do it without you.

Fantastic. Seeing the Toucans in as close to a natural environment as possible. They don't look real.photos can't do them justice. You have to see them for yourself. Also the Macaws are incredible. The colours are stunning. They fly past and flick you with their wings, you couldn't get any closer. Absolutely worth a visit.

We went to this attraction since we had some time to spare. On walking there from the entrance to the falls area, we were told that they accept only cash.Since we were staying on the Argentinian side,we didn't have Brazilian Reals. The lady said no problem and ripped us off on the exchange rate. Luckily my wife insisted on a... More

Honestly, this place is great. Organised, good parking, clean and well structured! You can get really close to some lovely birds and the place is good for about 2 hours of exploring!

I wasn't expecting to see much but had a great surprise when walking into this bird/butterfly park. Lots to see and very well organized. I particularly enjoyed the part in which macaws are flying all over the place. You can even take a pic with one of them on your shoulder at no additional cost. Great trip for families!

Just outside park gates, very wroth spending an hour or two looking at the flora and fauna as well as the birds. In places it's just like a zoo, but it's bout in the rain forest so offers shade from sun and also a more natural feel. Butterfly house is good. Even found q crocodile.

We did an afternoon visit here after 1.5 days visiting the Igacu Falls. Our (excellent) guide suggested it as we didn't want to do another activity so thought it was a fill-in. Were we ever wrong. We spent about 3 hours walking around this superb place. Points: - excellent organization - all bird exhibits very accessible and nicely done affording... More
