We take in birds which have been rescued from animal trafficking or are for some reason no longer able to survive in the wild. We give them a home in their beautiful native rainforest. We love huge aviaries. We think birds should be able to fly, and have a great social life, and feed on the best, fresh, organic diet possible. We then breed a new generation of birds which are capable of being released back into the wild (and we have a number of projects that do exactly that.) We also support projects and research throughout Brazil. We plant thousands of trees a year, restoring degraded Atlantic Rainforest. The Parque das Aves thinks that education is one of our most important tasks. Sometimes it's as simple as giving people direct contact with these beautiful birds. It's amazing what that can do. We also educate thousands of local schoolchildren a year in special programs. Thank you for supporting Parque das Aves. We couldn't do it without you. « less

Like many people, I went to Parque das Aves to kill a couple of hours between the Iguazu Falls and a flight. I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed - heaps of different aviaries, a chance to see a range of beautiful birds up close, plenty of information with very good English translations (unlike the Brazilian side of the falls... The Aviary is just across the street from the Iguacu Fall visitor center and is worth the visit. Parking can be an issue since it is a small lot. There is paid parking to the south abt 10 reals. Lots of no parking signs across the street so be aware. Several aviary areas where you can enter and see the... More

We went to Parque Das Aves after iguazu falls as we had 6 hours before we had to be at the airport. What an easy way to lose time. Some of the birds I have never seen before. If your in the area and have time, this is a must do.

Initially anxious as I believe birds should be flying free. However once I learned the birds were rescued and nursed back to health I enjoyed the day.

A wide variety of tropical birds. Some are in smaller cages while others were in large enclosures that you can walk through and spend a lot of time enjoying the birds flying around your heard. We were a little disappointed by the butterfly section but overall definitely worth visiting.
