We take in birds which have been rescued from animal trafficking or are for some reason no longer able to survive in the wild. We give them a home in their beautiful native rainforest. We love huge aviaries. We think birds should be able to fly, and have a great social life, and feed on the best, fresh, organic diet possible. We then breed a new generation of birds which are capable of being released back into the wild (and we have a number of projects that do exactly that.) We also support projects and research throughout Brazil. We plant thousands of trees a year, restoring degraded Atlantic Rainforest. The Parque das Aves thinks that education is one of our most important tasks. Sometimes it's as simple as giving people direct contact with these beautiful birds. It's amazing what that can do. We also educate thousands of local schoolchildren a year in special programs. Thank you for supporting Parque das Aves. We couldn't do it without you. « less

They have done a fantastic job with this park. It is beautiful and the birds are amazing. They have different areas that you go into that have different features (swamps, jungle, etc) and you get right up to the birds. Be advised - you may get bird pooped on (only one of the nine of us got hit..and only once).

I would say that this is a really nice place to visit, I would not say it is a MUST see but still, if you have time go there have a look, they have really nice birds, different colors, and some you would have never seen in your life

I expected a rather dismal setting but found the park very nicely done and well maintained. Lots of birds to see. The walk-in aviaries are quite an experience with many large and beautiful birds (macaws, toucans, and more) flying, squawking, buzzing your head, etc. In the aviaries it is possible to get pictures that look as if they were taken... It is not fantastic, but there are some uniqueness, especially on the close proximity you can get to some of the birds, and they have quite a variety of birds. it is worth going as it is along the way to the Iguacu Falls, and it took me an hour to complete the tour.

The park contains a large amount of birds and other animals. It is completely open space (so do not go if it is raining). There are some cages where you can access and be really close to the birds, which is nice. One of the cons is that some cages are small for the type of birds they have, makes... More

We stayed 2 days in Iguacu and it was simply awesome :) The park is huge and the most amazing are the 3 bird cages where you actually are with the birds. Some come very close. Some stay hidden away: in all the cages, one bird was chasing my girlfriend shiny blue toe nail: amazing and scary at the same... More

The park seems small from the outside but it has a lot to offer once your in. There is so much to see...take your time you may find a few surprises. Lots of up close picture opportunities with the birds. There is shopping and snacks available. My only complaint is that the signs on many of the cages are worn... More

Getting this close to Toucans and Macaws is dream stuff. They are the most fascinating birds in the world. This was a highlight of my Brazil trip. I feel privaledged to have been that close to toucans, as this will be my only oportunity ever, so thank you Parque Das Aves. The birds are incredibly beautiful. You could spend hours... More

At the end you can take pictures with the macaws! It is a cool experience to see all the birds within their cages- you walk through the cage-and some even fly next to you/express curiosity. High quality cameras are recommended as some of the very cool birds kept their distance- iphonezoom didnt quite cut it. The souvenir shop also had... More
