Owner description: Parque das Aves is a conservation project in the Atlantic Rainforest near Foz do Iguassu, Brazil. We take in birds which have been rescued from animal trafficking or are for some reason no longer able to survive in the wild. We give them a home in their beautiful native rainforest. We love huge aviaries. We think birds should be able to fly, and have a great social life, and feed on the best, fresh, organic diet possible. We then breed a new generation of birds which are capable of being released back into the wild (and we have a number of projects that do exactly that.) We also support projects and research throughout Brazil. We plant thousands of trees a year, restoring degraded Atlantic Rainforest. The Parque das Aves thinks that education is one of our most important tasks. Sometimes it's as simple as giving people direct contact with these beautiful birds. It's amazing what that can do. We also educate thousands of local schoolchildren a year in special programs. Thank you for supporting Parque das Aves. We couldn't do it without you.

Across from the entrance to the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls (it’s about a two-block walk), the small entrance-way opens up to a fairly large park filled with a lot of screeching birds of every imaginable color, from scarlet ibis to hyacinth macaws, from black vultures to white flamingos (not enough shrimp in their diet to be pink). One of the best bird displays we have seen well worth the visit. Wandering through the aviarys and getting close to the birds was most enjoyable.

Vivarium has mote than 200 birds species from Atlantic Forest. However, the weather is unbearably hot and humid in december. Next time, try in august or september.

We wandered across the road to the bird park after visiting the foz. A nice experience, trying to do good work helping the endangered species....good free wifi too....and to hear merry Xmas war is over played on panpipes from the man playing in the cafe was a surreal moment!!!!

An American naturalist, who we met briefly in Buenos Aires, recommended the Parque des Aves to us and we weren't disappointed. Our taxi driver who took us across to the Brazilian side of the Falls said we should spend a couple of hours here in the morning while the queues at the Falls subsided - good advice. It's a beautiful... More

My partner and I visited this bird park on a whim having exhausted most other "tourist" spots in Iguacu, but it was well worth it and good value for money compared to some of the other attractions. The park is really big and has so many birds to see, it really is amazing! The grounds and gardens are beautiful and... More

This is a great place to visit. You can really get close to the birds and there are a huge number of them in the park. Was nice a quiet when we visit so could really take a leisurely walk around enjoying everything. You should definitely visit here if your staying in foz.

Saw some of the most interesting and colorful birds, especially the Toucan and the various hued macaos.

Visiting this bird sanctuary is a fabulous addition to your visit to Igacu Falls! It is on the Brazil side, right near the entrance to the falls. You will see amazing, exotic birds of all shapes, colours and sizes and some reptiles, as well as butterflies in an enclosure. You need 1.5 to 2 hours to stroll through and enjoy... More

I've been here about 6 times in 1996, 2001, and 2014. Its about 150 meters just before the entrance to Foz do Iguacu National Park. One weekend day it was socked with tons of group visitors getting off buses but there was enough space inside that it wasn't bad. The local bus stops just outside. Food and drink inside is... More
