Owner description: Parque das Aves is a conservation project in the Atlantic Rainforest near Foz do Iguassu, Brazil. We take in birds which have been rescued from animal trafficking or are for some reason no longer able to survive in the wild. We give them a home in their beautiful native rainforest. We love huge aviaries. We think birds should be able to fly, and have a great social life, and feed on the best, fresh, organic diet possible. We then breed a new generation of birds which are capable of being released back into the wild (and we have a number of projects that do exactly that.) We also support projects and research throughout Brazil. We plant thousands of trees a year, restoring degraded Atlantic Rainforest. The Parque das Aves thinks that education is one of our most important tasks. Sometimes it's as simple as giving people direct contact with these beautiful birds. It's amazing what that can do. We also educate thousands of local schoolchildren a year in special programs. Thank you for supporting Parque das Aves. We couldn't do it without you.

I was not very happy going to this attraction, but I have to confess that I was amazed by the variety of species, organizaton and the walk in cages. Do not expect a "Disney like" infrastructure but it is honest and well organized. Caution: some people will stop you at the main gate giving you information and then try to... More

So glad this Bird Park is right across the highway from the Iguazu Falls Nat´l Park -- it was a terrific place to start the day. I stayed over 2 hours. It was busy, but not uncomfortable. All the signs describing the birds, and the little ¨do you know¨ blurbs were really interesting. Thanks to whoever does all the upkeep... More

I prefer feathered creatures in contained settings like the bird park in Singapore or the aviary area of the Smithsonian's National Zoo. A non-flying brown bird (the size of a chicken) pecked my foot twice while I was touring this park. It did the same to a little boy.

Beautiful bird park also with snakes and lizards. The toucans were spectacular as were the macaws. If you are at the falls this is a must

This was my favorite part of the trip to the falls. I loved walking among the birds. They fly right over your head!! There is a wonderful variety of birds to see. Clean and the birds appear very well cared for. Fantastic visit. Plan on at least 2-3 hours and don't forget to get your picture taken with a macaw... More

Basically beautiful tropical birds everywhere. Clearly they taylor to their customers with a heavy focus on colorful flashy birds (perrots mostly) but there are many other birds as well for those interested in a wider perspective on nature. The walk-in aviary (gigantic birdcage) is truly stunning. Birds come very close, they fly around, very impressive. For environmentalists like me the... More

This is the closer you can get to some animals and birds typically from Brazil. The possibility of getting into the cages with macaws and parrots is an amazing experience and the opportunity to take pictures holding them is the perfect cover album picture.

You could see many exotic animals and flowers clouser as you ever thought. Tap the toucans and pull your head off in front of the parrot... YOU HAVE TO SEE!

The park is an awesome place to see after visiting Brazilian side of the Iguacu Falls. Kids will love it and adults won't be bored. Birds are beautiful and really friendly sometimes.

After having gone on numerous bird walks through steaming jungles in the rest of Brazil, we went here and saw more birds right in front of us. This is definitely worth going to. Everyone raved about it. My favorite aviary was the Macaw one where there were over one hundred macaws of all colors. Fantastic!!! You have to see this.... More
