I can't understand why or how this turned into possibly João Pessoa's top tourist attraction. Really. Sunset is splendorous, indeed, but you don't need to sit at one of the local bars nor listen to Jurandhy's rendition of Ravel's Bolero to enjoy it. Actually, if you just walk past the bars and into the handicraft market you will find yourself... More

You see the sunset in the river with a excellent music has been playing. It's a place cheap, just the parking tax, and you can find restaurants, souveniers stores and hand craft things. I recommend.

Great area to watch the sunset whilst listening to balero being played by saxaphone. Would recommend sitting close to the water to get some great pics when the sun sets. There are various shops selling local crafts and a good place to get souveniers.

Not all tourist traps are organized, clean and enjoyable like this one. They took the most of a nice sunset spot adding to it lively bars, typical food, forró and a good quality crafts fair. The boat trip is a bit long, but there is typical dance and music to entertain everybody until Ravel's Bolero starts to be played by... More

But worth a visit to see the locals out in force - A gondola with violin player at sunset playing Bolero by Ravel... Why not? Park at the beginning of the road to avoid the touts...

You can buy some stuff at the little stores they have in front of the bars. You can meet "Jurandir do Sax", a man that is on Guinnes Book because he has been playing the Ravel Bolero for EVER!!! Everyday at 5pm at the bars.

This is a very traditional program in town: watch the sunset while Jurandy, the saxophone player, plays the Bolero de Ravel. The mix of music and sunset is interesting, very beautiful overall. Be aware that all the bars have live music (which stops for the sunset show) and all of them will charge you some reais (R$ 5-7 in jun/12)... More

Despite it's a very beautiful location, the place is crowded, dirty and the music is noisy.

My girlfriend desperatly wanted to hear the Bolero de Ravel at sunset time on Jacaré Beach. So we went. Well, the whole area is built around this attraction, many restaurants, craft shops... The average quality of craft shop is good. Concerning "THE EVENT", well, some like it but I found this a bit ridiculous. A saxophone player starts playing the... More
