If you are in the area of the Apostle Islands this center is a must on your list of things to see. They have an excellent ranger staff who can help with any questions you have about the area and they have a tower with a spectacular view of the whole area. Anyone with panoramic picture taking abilities is in... More

The visitor's center has a observation tower, nature trails and the museum covers history and natural history. Everything is really well done. We saw a temporary art exhibit that had spectacular photography as well. Definitely worth a couple hours.

I had read the reviews and thought 'how good could it be, it's just a visitor center'. Today we stopped, and in comparison with the visitor center we went to in the apostle islands, this was fantastic. They have many displays, a gift shop, a third story viewing tower, all good stuff. I would go here before going to apostle... More

The NGLVC is a great place to visit even if you have already been here. There are always some new things added and the permanent exhibits are interesting as are the movie presentations. Their are many interactive exhibits for the children and informative information at the counters staffed by knowledgeable personnel. Many brochures of local interests and events are also... More

This is a very interesting place where the visitor learns a lot about Lake Superior and the surrounding area. The displays are informative and interesting. There are a couple of great murals on the walls.

Our visist here was very cool. My husband, 92 year old mother and I visited here on June 25th. We found the staff to be exteremely friendly and helpful. One of the volunteers went outside and took me on a nature walk. While I was doing that, some of the other staff took my mom and husband around on a... More

This is a pretty cool site along Highway 2 a couple of miles west of Ashland highlighting the gelogy and geography of the northern Great Lakes. It is a must stop whenever we are in the area and we have visited at least five time. It is a very modern and spacious building with paranomic views of a pond and... More
