The Ashland / Superior bay area is a special, surprising Jewel, And so is the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center - Even as an adult, I was delighted by the fun of exploring the Center, from top to bottom! It's even Fun to visit the signposts at the center staircase, getting an idea of just How Far you are, from... More

This place is like a welcome center on steriods... They had cheese samples, brochures for places, free maps to get you to them, a lookout that you could climb up to on the inside, a walkthrough and hands on history lesson, and classes that they offered throughout the day! It's worth a stop whether you are looking to take a... More

Free, full of rich history and cool exhibits. Staff is great as well. Make sure you attend the video and spend some time looking out at Lake Superior. This is a treasure not to be missed.

This is a must stop for anyone traveling. This is by far the best rest stop I have ever visited. Expect to spend a lot of time here as it will be worth with the exhibits and murals plus the view from the observation tower. Great place to bring the kids for a day trip as well if you live... More

It's great for kids and the displays on the second floor change so there is something different. Great meeting place if you want to hold a meeting also. It has a kitchen to prepare food for your guests. Nice view from the top of the building.

We passed by this gem many times and finally took the time to stop. There were hands on exhibits for kids. It was fun and educational at the same time. The observation floor gave a great view of the area. We loved the pictures of the sea caves. Staff was very welcoming and helpful.
