A tranquil place to get away from the city

If you have time in Belo Horizonte definitely spend a few hours wandering around the Park Municipal. Stunning setting in the middle of town and plenty to see and do for everyone. Really enjoyed an afternoon in here wandering around and taking in the sights.

Open 6am to 6pm, closed Mondays. Free. Not a place to go out of your way to see, but a nice place for a walk to get away from the bussle of the city. There are lots of things for young children to do, from free climbing frames to a small amusement park. There is a bigger lake in the... More

I would love to give it a high rating. A park in the middle of downtown, surrounded by buildings in one of the most (if not THE most) important avenues in the city... All seem so nice until you get there and see the real deal. The park is dirty and not properly taken care of. Everyone will clearly see... More

This park is reasonably quiet and provides an oasis of sorts from buzzing city traffic by virtue of its sheer size in the heart of Belo Horizonte. Wander the many paths around the lakes, past the children's carousels and odd colored exercise machines as you make your way from one gate to another. You can even rent a boat with... More

For families with kids this is the ideal park: parents can relax while the kids enjoy what the various attaractions (funfair, canoe pond, soccer pitch) have to offer. Guards warn strangers about the risks of being robbed and advise them not to go too deep into the darker parts of the park. The taxi driver that took us back to... More

A mismesh of lake, park, jogging path, fairground, children play areas, boat rental, theatre, construction site and ciesta haven for beggers and workers.

I used to jog at the Parque Municipal many years ago. Recently went for a stroll with a friend and our young sons. If you don't like crowds, avoid Sundays.

In the very heart of such a busy city like Belo Horizonte, the park is a nice place to walk around, sit on the benches to relax, read or just watch people, trees, grass, birds, and the lake. Children may really like it. it´s worth a visit.
