This is a place I think you will just see here. This is a grotto in the middle of a beautiful landmark. You start to go down and can see a lake in the bottom. The water of the lake is saphire blue. Absolute amazing. If you like photos, try to use a blue shirt, this intensify the blue of... More

This is one of the most celebrated sites in Bonito, and difficult to get in since access vouchers run out fast. Although the blue lake is beautiful, it is not astonishing, and we were really frustrated by the experience. This is a very quick visit.

The cave is spectacular and the lake at the bottom impressive. Try to go early as the sun light makes the cave lighter and water more blue.

I visited the caves a couple of days ago and have to say that the whole experience was very disappointing :( No one at the caves seemed to speak any English which was a problem because they did not want to let me in without my docket which the bus driver had unbeknown to me. Once this was sorted out,... More

Amazing cave! rated as one of the nicest caves in the world. Not a bad hike. They are doing a better flow so people don't cross going down and up

Arrived as part of ecotours visit to the visitor reception and shop. Tours to the cave are guided-we were with a portugese speaking group so don't know about English. There is a short walk to the top of the stairs suitably dressed with hard hats(obligatory). The stairs could be a challenge to less agile people as some are rough stones,... More

It is worth the tour, very pleasant walking below of the rocks. The guide speaks a bit of English and he was very good. Worth to see it.

Very beautiful. Terrible to get to (about 10 mi on a bumpy dirt road). There were tons of butterflies (be aware if you don't like them). Don't forget bug spray. Prefer backpacks to purses (you need free hands going down the steps).

The Gruta do Lago Azul is about 1 hour drive from Bonito, mostly dirt road (translation: bumpy ride). It is a very beautiful cave with plenty of stalagmites (^) and stalactites (v). From the reception area there is a short hike to the entrance of the cave and then one descends steps that have handtrails except in a few spots.... More

We've seen caves before, but we still thought this one was worth seeing because of the pretty blue color. It's not a long activity, and I don't know how much it costs separately (it was included in our tour package), but we would still recommend it. I wanted to just chime in to contradict the other reviewer who mentioned that... More
