it is a nice place and you definitely see some of the nice aras. what I don't like about it that bonito is organised like a mafia cause everything is in private hands and so you have to pay a lot to see the things and can not do it by yourself. anyway if you have the money it is... More

It is simply a walk around a but sinkhole, but the scenery is spectacular. The macaws are everywhere and it is definitely quite inspiriting to see them flying around. Tip: try to go early in the morning or late in the afternoon - during high noon, it is too hot and neither the macaws nor us what to be under... More

After visiting the Pantanal we have seen a lot of Araras, so this was a small bonus. But the park is well maintained and the guide was very enthousiastic. The armadillo's we saw were the real bonus !

We went to the Buraco das Araras in the morning before snorkeling in Rio da Prata. The tour around the sinkhole takes about one hour. Our guide was quite knowledgeable and spoke decent English and explained a lot about the macaws as well as the flora and fauna around the sinkhole. We saw a lot of macaws and some of... More

The place is beautiful. It is a quick walk, but totally worth it. We heard it was better to go in the morning, when the parrots are more active and fly around in groups.

If you love macaws this place is outstanding to see them. You need to go early in the morning. We went 6.30 am, were totally alone there and saw lots of birds really close. Then we returned in the afternoon and the place was crowded and noisy and we did not see that many macaws.

After reading in the lonely planet that this is "forgettable" we were a bit hesitant on going but we're glad we did! We went before the rio da prata tour in the morning and saw lots of macaws in the sink hole as well as other birds (sorry, not good with bird names). Think it's worth going to if you've... More

The buraco (hole) is an ancient sink hole and in its steep walls there nest about a dozen Arara couples (they seem to be monogamous). These birds are so beautiful to watch in their natural habitat!! And, I they are way more beautiful than we had imagined. There were also two hawks to watch and at the bottom of the... More

We were there as the macaws were making their way back into the crater. Truly spectacular, though not a lot of opportunity for photos, since the birds are so far away. Don't forget the bug spray, especially if you are there the same time we were... right around sunset.
