We scuba dived in this amazingly clear sinkhole in July 2015. We are still raving about how clear it was. I guess the only disappointment is that there are few animals to look at but it was definitely worth doing. The water was warm, the staff extremely professional and the place is just stunningly beautiful.

The Mysterious Lagoon is a really cool place and definitely worth checking out. That said, for the cost difference between snorkelling and diving, you're better off just snorkelling. As you swim you hover over a yawning blue opening which is stunning. Combine this tour with the Rio da Prata and kill two birds with one stone, doing both the same... More

This is a very cool natural lake/sinkhole. The water is cold and they won't automatically offer a wetsuit for snorkeling, so ask. The snorkeling is okay, not much to see. We only snorkeled, but our friends did scuba and liked it more. Bring an underwater camera!

What a place! after a very small walk we reach this beautiful literally a hole in the woods, until you get your snorkeling gear on it's hard to see how amazing that place is. Cold water but it will amaze you. Do it.

it is a kinda blue lagoon, were you can float or dive (depends on what you paid for), but it almost has no sub aquatic life.

The lago is normally closed in the summer months because of the algae bloom that sets in January to April. We were lucky to visit because our tour operator from Paraguay (Aventura Extremas via Ygarape tours) had contacts. They are working on preventing plant and animal material from falling into the lake to minimize the algae bloom in the summer... More

I did this dive as a day trip from Bonito while travelling through on an Intrepid tour. The hotel kindly booked a car transfer and the dive the day before. The site is within the Recanto Ecologico Rio da Prata, an eco-tourism approved centre situated amongst farm land about an hours (bumpy) drive from Bonito. There is a new road... More

The Lagoa is beautiful, we only did snorkeling but it was breathtaking. The water was super blue and a bit cool (which was great as it was very hot outside). Only one group at time is allowed in the Lagoa so it wasn't crowded at all (we were about 8 people in our group). Anyway, worth checking it out.

The lake is very Blue due to magnesium deposits. We weren't expecting it to be such a nice colour, as pictures are often deceiving - but it's just like the pictures. This is suitable for first time divers, we went in without knowing how to scuba dive - we could only go 8 meters deep for safety reasons. Not many... More

Just astonishingly beautiful. Glad we did not opt for dive option. The flotation as spectacular alone
