While this isn't the beach you want to go to for a swim, it's a great place to take the kids. Beautiful view, wide sidewalks with a bicycle lane and special lanes for skateboards, rollerblades, etc. Several great little beach bars/restaurantes along the promenade, sidewalk vendors selling coconut water, etc and bicycle rentals make this a perfect beach to spend... This well know beach is surely the best in town if you love burning your calories after a long day at work or holidaying; jogging, skating, walking, cycling or simple admiring the bodies of the locals (capixabas) are some of the options on the menu;during the day it is very calm and relaxing...bring your towel and factor 50 sun cream protection. There are plenty... From a distance the beach looks impressive. It is a five km curve of light brown sand with gentle surf and not many people. Kiosks are few and far between and tend to be expensive. Facilities are not exactly the shining star of cleanliness. The tide interface is steep making walking awkward and the nearby highway tends to be noisy.... More

Every Sunday from 7am to 1pm they close the road n the beach (like in Rio de Janeiro). Excellent time to go running or do any kind of sports activity.

It's not the best to go for a swim but I like it. The best one for kayaking, snorkeling is Praia da Costa in Vila Velha. Its great to go for a walk, rollerblade, ride a bike and rollerskate. Make sure to try a great fish called Peroa and also Moqueca capichaba, there are nice restaurants nearby.

The beach is well maintained but silty. We prefer Pria de Costa past the shopping mall & over the bridge in Vila Velha for kayaking, snorkeling etc.

and now one of my favorites too...maybe too many bikinis. very family oriented place as all of Brasil is. we went to a nice restaurant across the street from the beach and had a great fish and lobster moquecas dinner. wonderful. moquecas capixaba. try it in a thick black clay pot, panella de barro. nice beach with nice people.
