I don't get it - this beach is promoted as one of the 'best beaches in Brazil' - why is that? Maybe we had taken the hype too literally but we were expecting a deserted tropical paradise - instead we found a 'not thrilling but nice' beach which stretches across several bays. The beaches are by no means deserted -... More

If you want to relax, that's the best place you ll go in Trancoso. Calm-blue-greenish-waters and good food everywhere!

Avoid the crowded area at the center. Go to the left side (looking to the sea), rent a beach chair (paid by getting some drinks) and relax under a tree.

Praia do Espelho may be a cute and peaceful experience if you stay there for several days --- but it is a complete rip off excursion if you go there on a day trip from Porto Seguro. We traveled with CVC, a large Brazilian tour operator (very organized and professional otherwise). The beach is pretty, of course, but the water... More

It was billed as most beautiful beach in the area, but wasn't any more beautiful than the beach where UXUA has its beach bar.

Check tides and wind conditions to get best of beautiful Praia do Espelho. The restaurant can get full quickly during busy week as New Years Eve

This is where most tourists come spend the day. The infrastructure is offered by beach restaurants. The food here is not great, but ok and expensive. You can use their lounge chairs, and leave your things while you go for a walk. It's pretty safe, too. Hire a taxi or rent a car to drive here.

Visited Espelho whilst in Trancoso based on positive reviews but ended up slightly disappointed - surely a nice beach still I personally prefer Nativos in Trancoso which does not require RS 250 taxi drive (both ways) that takes more than half an hour each direction.
