This is one of my favorite places in town, totally chilling out kind of place, with a small coffee shop where u can sit, relax and enjoy the stunning view. You can stop by to ur way to downtown, but be careful the neighborhood isn't very safe.

Unfortunately the museum was still closed when we visited (Feb), but the jazz night they have there on Saturdays was really fun. Even had some nice vegan food to eat at one of the stalls!

The whole building is currently under construction, meaning there are no exhibitions, except for a series of paintings in the museum's main office. When open, the museum is said to be great. Check it out. If closed, enjoy food and drinks at the excellent cafe next door. Or, on Saturdays, live jazz right next to the cafe.

Sadly there is not really anything to see here as they are refurbishing the site ready for the World Cup 2014. Initially no one wanted to help or assist me and I nearly left but then luckily someone noticed I wanted help and went to fetch an English speaking guide for me. The young lady was wonderful. She was very... More

As of mid-January the museum is still closed, along with the sculpture park(or at least both were when I visited on Saturday). However the restaurant is open and is a very pleasant place to eat, especially if you get a seat with a view, and I enjoyed my food. The reason for going on a Saturday was to listen to... More

We were very much looking forward to seeing this museum. We went out there, despite our helpful hotel person telling us it was closed, because we looked on the website and there was nothing about it being closed. In fact, there was a message saying that after the holiday weekend (independence day), all activities would resume as normal. We took... More

it is well restored and nice to see how this place was used to commercial purposes and now is related to art.

The museum is a calm and atractive spot. Too bad Tarsila do Amaral's portrait, my real reason to visit the museum, wasn't available that day.

Historical site, from the slaves time, is part of Salvador City History. Very nice view from Baia de Todos Santos. I do recommend!

Sunset sun in MAM, in the basement cafe, on the pier, it's beautiful. In MAM, be sure to visit the sculpture garden.
