This beach is very very clean and the sand is fantastic with little sharp objects and rocks. There are a lot of major rocks that are on the shoreline and out on the beach. In July, the waves were over my head if I went out more that 20 feet (6 feet tall). So be careful, but great for body... More

nice sand here, probably the cleanest of the Salvador beaches but still not that brilliant, the best I found was Barra because of the location and waves.

Fantastic local snack food and fantastic caparinjas....Pity that there was a little down pour which meant we could not go down to the beach, but it looked like a great swimming beach. Staff at Pipa were great.

We went to Flamengo Beach during the World Cup. The Beach is really nice and has a good restaurant near by. You can go swimming and enjoy the sun. After lunch we went for a walk along the beach to the south. It was the same time as the Brasilian Match, and nobody was left on the beach. Suddenlly a... More

We went there several times and always stayed at the 'Barraca do Louro' it has great service (better in week days) and on one side there are beds on wooden platforms covered like a 4 pools bed that are quite fun to have for some extra money! We loved the atmosphere of these enchanting place! We felt safe at all... More

We only discovered this beach at the end of our stay but wished we had gone there more as it was much nicer than the other beaches. Quite pricey if you want to eat/ drink at the beach bars, but there was a really nice cheap little self service one road off the beach. Takes a while to get there... More

It takes an hour by bus from Salvador, and those buses only go once an hour (if you're lucky, maybe twice), so it took a while to get there. However it was a great surprise, as this area was really up-market, a very large beach with lots of space. >The waves were pretty high, so it is not the best... More

This great beach is located north of Salvador's city centre, close to Itapua. For sure it is far more better than the city centre beached; clean, spacious, nice people and good restaurants.

We rested, relaxed, swam, caught waves, and drank beers and Caipairinhas. There is a a cafe as well as the usual chair/umbrella vendors as well as 'walk by" service for food, snacks, etc. Water and sand were clean.

It is a good beach to relax and swim. Unfortunately there is a lack of good infrastructure in this place.
