If you like to go to a beach where you can get big waves, so this is the right beach to go. This beach is the favourite of surfing. Just be careful with your stuff. There is a lot of pick pockets around the area.

Going to Flamengo is a nice way to spend the day. About 45 minutes from Vitória (about a R$85/US$35 taxi ride) without traffic, you will find this extremely nice, wide, and relatively uncrowded beach. Have the taxi take you to Barraca do Loro, at Praia de Aleluia and rent some chairs and umbrellas from them. Very safe -- I have... More

Quite far from the city center, but the beach is nice with crystal clear water. Good offer of restaurants there with typical local food.

Flamengo beach in Salvador is a city beach easily accessible. It s relatively clean and you can swim in it. There are nicer beaches further away from the city, but Flamengo is a convenient option.

The crowd is Salvador are much less sophisticated than rio. We were welcomed I the beach to play football along with the locals. It was awesome. Made some buddies too. The beach is very clean and the small shacks temporarily set up sell beers. But they are costly, maybe due to World Cup season. At end of beach is a... More

Flamengo Beach has become one of the most dangerous places in Salvador; actually in Brazil! I know it better than good; lived nearby. I can just warn you to go there. In Stella Maris; part of the beach; they kill people every day. Young students, priests, tourists; whatever. Flamengo has become one of the worst parts of Salvador. Although whole... More

A very nice place for enjoying one of the cleanest parts of Salvador shore. Nice places for surfing and eating. Some few parts present natural swimming pools, which can receive children safely.

This beach is very very clean and the sand is fantastic with little sharp objects and rocks. There are a lot of major rocks that are on the shoreline and out on the beach. In July, the waves were over my head if I went out more that 20 feet (6 feet tall). So be careful, but great for body... More

nice sand here, probably the cleanest of the Salvador beaches but still not that brilliant, the best I found was Barra because of the location and waves.
