We have seen other turtle conservation projects but we thought this was the most professional one yet. It was very encouraging to see the care being taken with these beautiful creatures. The cafe/restaurant was very good

There is really quite a lot to see at Projeto Tamar! If you arrive at the right time, you can watch as all of fish and turtles are fed. There are plenty of places to sit and take it easy, so plan for a relaxing visit of 1.5-2 hours.

Complete waste of time to do so, spent most of the day in a tour bus and Praia do Forte and Guarajumba beach where you stop after are really not noteworthy. We stayed in Salvador 3 days so we could do this tour and regretted it. Salvador needs 2 days max, and you can happily skip this knowing you missed... More

Nice small place but No guided Tour - no service only selfservice - and a big souvenir shop whith a lot of personel

do NOT book with tours. you are better off with a cab. otherwise you will have to wait for 1-2 hours until they pick you up

The info. about the turtles was good and there is a decent selection of shops just outside the sanctuary. On the tour we did with Prive Turs we then went to a nice beach, but didn't see anything else at Praia do Forte. The tour was hampered by a lot a pick ups and drop offs which made the tour... More

Good selection of turtle specimens and other sea animals. They release baby turtles every afternoon. I recomend to go by afternoon to see the baby turtle release.

As part of a large group, I travelled to Praia do Forte where we toured the turtle project and snorkeled up the beach. There are many shops to browse, many options for restaurants and several supermarkets to buy food.

Kids enjoyed to see turtles and some other sea animals.
