Praia da Lua is easy to reach. Get to Ponta Negra somehow, then wait for the 120 bus, who will probably leave you at the Marina do David (not Davi as I've seen it miss-spelled often) for free. This beach is a lot safer the Ponta Negra Beach, however the lack of infrastructure is visible compared to the famous city beach. The water is cleaned though, the place is safe, and you CAN find something ok to eat...well, try and maybe you'll like it more than I do...

Praia da Lua in the 90's and beginning of 2000's was a very good beaach, today we have so many small business on the beach, a lot of trash and is sad to see this. I recommend you to go to Tupe, but have the same problem, but is better or go to another beach on Rio Negro like Praia... More

The beach is reached by launch from Marina Davi, and is only about ten minutes away. The beach is extensive at low water, sandy, deserted for the most part, and the river is great for a swim to cool off from the tropical heat. The launch makes regular stops to take you back to Davi or further upstream to Seringal... More
