If it will take you a 30 hours plus flight to get there ,then the only thing left in your mind would be a very high expectation for the tour, or rather a "dream" tour, in this sense I would say herman did a fantastic jod .Now sitting in my cozy home back in Beijing, I would like to say... More

I just came back from Amazon with fabulous experience. we stayed in Dolphin lodge for 6 days, and we were the only customers in the lodge at that time, feels like a king. The food is awesome, we always have fresh off the dirt fruits and the shef really knows how to cook. Within one week, we had experienced 2... More

Six of us shared this tour during a cruise stop. We elected the sunken forest and meeting of the waters option which included a local lunch and piranha fishing. Although the tour operator (Herman) I had been dealing with was busy with a documentary crew form the UK, the native guide he assigned to us was excellent and well suited... More

We went to Manaus a few days before our cruise ship was set to leave. Herman showed us many places in and around Manaus. He was very knowledgeable and polite. We would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

We met Herman and his tour company during our trip to Brazil last summer. We had a boat tour up the Rio Negra with him. I have nothing but good things to say. Herman was on time, helpfull, organised and everything went smoothly. Herman is very knowledgeable and friendly. Our trip was both relaxing and exciting. We saw more wildlife... More

We recently had the pleasure of having Herman Birley & Oropendola Tours as our guide on a 4 day 3 night tour on the Rio Negro & Amazon Rivers. Herman was easy to work with when we contacted him via e-mail at "amazonbrasil@oropendolatours.com " he always answered our questions & was very prompt in his replys. He picked us up... More

I stopped in Manaus on the way back from a business conference I had in Sao Paulo last month (09/2012). Wanting to explore the Amazon for a few days with a focus on fishing for the legendary tucanare (peacock bass), I connected with Herman Birley. While other tours had trouble accommodating all of things I wanted to do in three... More

I have just returned from a 5 day trip up the Amazon with herman who runs Oropendola Tours. I discovered Hermans company on tripadvisor last year and despite being a bit concerned about booking a trip just on Tripadvisors reviews I went ahead and booked a 5 day trip for myself and a mate. What an excellent decision. Herman arranged... More

Herman Birley is the guide and director of Oropendola tours in Manaus, and arranged two days of tours for us while our cruise ship was docked in Manaus. Both days were fabulous. Day 1 took us to the meeting of the waters, floating villages, the flooded rain forest, lunch and piranha fishing at a floating restaurant. Day 2 we visited... More

Four friends and I wanted to check out the Amazon - and we had the trip of our lifetime. We saw wild animals, acquired many, many tales that I have been telling my friends for the last few months, ate some AWESOME local food, met local tribes, swam with dolphins, and learned a lot about the region. Herman made it... More
