Beautiful beach, great infrastructure with awesome stores but the place is too crowded. If you don't have issues about competing for any significant space on the beach you will enjoy the place.

As most beaches in Maceió, the reefs turn the sea into a giant salty pool. Barra de São Miguel is not as crowded as the neighboring beaches of Francês or Gunga, and the water is deliciously cooler. Prices on bars are more reasonable as well. There are people renting canoes, kayaks, and paddle swan-shaped boats. Praero restaurant is on the... More

This is a stop on the way to Gunga. It is nice to look at the beach and take a picture, 10 minutes is enough.

There's a huge part of the beach that's still pretty much deserted - you can walk for an hour and you won't meet a soul! And if you feel lonely, there's plenty of bars on the opposite direction !

Barra de São Miguel is located 35 km outside Maceió through AL101 - South, which is being duplicated for better accomodation of the intense and insane traffic it usually has during summer, for that is the way of some of the most beautiful beaches in the world (and i'm not exagerating!). The small city has some 20.000 inhabitants trhoughout the... More

Since there is a natural barrier 200 meters away, there are no big waves. Really good for chilling and family.
