Coming from Switzerland, I found a bit too busy. Brazilians like to be sitting on the top of each other listening to loud music. If you want true nature and deserted paradisaical beaches, go North.

It is a paradisiac beach, no doubt. Beautiful coconuts jungle , one side with no waves , a sea lagoon, and the other protected by the rocks also with no big waves. Gunga Beach was about an hours drive away from the Maceio Mar hotel but worth the $12 for the excursion. The beach has little shops and plenty of places to get food from. There are tables and chairs with umbrellas to sit at on the beach. People don't really lay out like they do in U.S., they more just lounge... More

The most beautiful beach of Maceio!!! You can walk on the ocean, even grab some exotic fishes...lots of fun!!

There are several tourism agents to take you to Gunga beach. Good infra-structure in the place to stay.

Wonderful place, calm sea, beatiful peoples but I think the "barracas" (Little restaurants in front of the beache) are very expensive ... The restaurants in Maceio are cheap than restaurants in Gunga's beach. The food it is so bad ... Enormous quantity but the quality no better. I prefer the "caldinho de feijao" ...

Its worth a visit if you are in Maceió, but I probably wouldn't go back. Too many people, too many bars, terrible to no service at the bars and too much trash in the water and in the sand.

Wake up Brazilian authorities!! The beach is a paradise, but it's getting dirty due to the excess of visitors and the lack of cleanliness.

I've really enjoyed the waves :) and I think this special god creature place would amaze you with its very special enviroment. If I were you I would definatelly go there and enjoy the moments
