A UNESCO world heritage site, El Fuerte definitely has archeological and historic significance. When in Samaipata, you shouldn't miss El Fuerte. But be aware that the engraving on the stone - for which the place is famour for - are difficult to see. More

First town in Bolivia that visited after Santa Cruz...quiet and relaxing town. Lovely people and great out door activities from the Amboro National park. Cheap out- door guides, and great stop before starting climbing up to high elevation on your journey to visit other area in Bolivia ( Sucre,Salar de Uyuni,Lapaz). Hai Nguyen. Frank of Cafe Hamburgo offers reasonable priced tour in multiple languages. I connected it with a overnight hiking trip to Amboro national park - totally worth it! More

Each time I have visited here, there have been very few people there and therefore you feel more drawn... More
