We journeyed to this garden from Hakata to Yahata where we located the "free" bus to the Onsen (spa) but would have had to wait an hour for it so we found another couple and shared a cab. The cost ($12.00 one way) was worth it. We got to the garden in about 10 minutes and so were able to... More

I visited there in 9 May 2014 I think this year flower bloomed a bit early but on the date of my visit there are still quite lots of flower especially on the upside hill while flower in the tunnel zone already fallen like 40 percents already. First stop is wisteria tunnel where the flower have grown with few different... More

Really well-maintained garden that I'm sure must've been amazing when in full bloom. There were still some flowers blooming though, so it wasn't entirely a wasted trip. Perhaps the best time to go is in the first week of May. There wasn't an entrance fee, which I guess was pretty much a signal that the season was over. Still nice... More

Basically there were 3 parts in the garden, 1. long tunnel at the entrance with wisteria in white and different type of purple, 2. a igloo shape flower "rack" with one single purple wisteria, 3. a flat ceiling of 2 type of wisteria. So spend your time well and don't just stuck in the tunnel if you are not having... More

Kawachi Fujien did not disappoint at all. It does exist, as what all other previous reviewers have already claimed. The garden was surprisingly larger than what I have expected it to be. The first view presented upon paying the entrance fee and entering the garden is the famous wisteria tunnel. At once, the visitor is treated to the best view... More

Really beautiful. I was here in May 2013, and the pictures on the internet don't do the garden justice - the smell was incredible, and they have the biggest bees I've possibly ever seen! Very highly recommended. Not the easiest place to get to, but here's how to do it: First, take a train to JR Yahata station. Then you... More

Went here after May golden week, also lured by the photos on the internet I decided to find out if this place exist. I went on May 7,2013. In theory it should be early, but most of the wisteria were actually full bloom! This place is pretty much impossible to go without a car / bike. Public transit doesn't take... More

I went here for Golden Week, lured by photos I found on the internet and spurred by the fact that it was going to be somewhat near where I was already going. I was not disappointed! The drive out there was pretty, and the park itself, although not in full bloom, was fragrant and beautiful. Worth it. Even in "peak"... More
