Description: We pride ourselves as being one of the most experienced and dedicated...
We pride ourselves as being one of the most experienced and dedicated whale-watching companies in Washington. Because of our very high success rate, Island Adventures was one of the first and only companies to guarantee whale sightings on every tour - but it's our team of highly qualified crew that will make your trip unforgettable! They boast over 100 years of combined experience in the islands, over 4100 days with the whales, and have led excursions for over 80,000 satisfied customers.

Wonderful Adventure Boat Tour in An Amazing Boat and Gorgeous Area!

A great and thrilling adventure in one of the areas most scenic local. Specially designed boat really provides a great experience for one and all. Highly recommended!

We saw nothing for 90 min and then, 1/2 way into the trip we "saw" grey whales 400ft away. Though far away, there was little to see; yet the tour guide hyped up our siting repeatedly saying we were so lucky we should go to the casino that night. Actually there was little to see - a bitty spray from... More

Notice this is the only response that we've been this critical of the reviewer. We're not being defensive – we're just confused. Island Adventures has been voted the #1 whale watch company in Washington state for the past 5 years. Guests choose our company because guests have a passion to see whales in their natural habitat. That's why we understand... More

We have taken the Island Adventures Whale Watching cruise three or four times and we have always had a great experience. The onboard naturalist can answer all your questions about the various sea life that is encountered as well as being very knowledgeable about the resident Orca pods. The boats were clean and well maintained and the crews were friendly... More

Whale watching companies help each other to spot marine life. They even employ helicopters! But having a great day on the water also includes enthusiasm of the crew and commentary, clean and comfortable facilities, an updated electronic mapping program so you know where you are at all times, and so forth. Island Adventures hit all these points and also add... More

I've been on several whale watching excursions over the years and I have to say, Island Adventures is the best, by far. Great, comfortable boats and a knowledgeable staff and a knack for finding whales on every trip. Can't ask for more. I like that they employ young marine biologists who accompany every trip to explain all of the natural... More

My husband and I took a whale watching tour and had a great time! We saw a lot of amazing wildlife including one large whale that stayed with us for several hours. We will definitely come back!

If you are expecting to see sights of breaching whales and the like, you could be really disappointed. We spent the entire day on the boat and didn't see one. The staff commentary was banal and uninteresting, turning to desperate excuses as the day wore on. In their defence though, they did offer a free return visit as there had... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your trip with Island Adventures. Unfortunately, it seems as though whale watching may not have been the right activity for this guest. Since this is a boat based whale watching tour, we are dealing with wildlife in the wild -- we have no control over what they decide to do , or... More

Decided to do a little whale watching during my quick stay in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Booked a morning whale watching excursion. The ship was manned by just 3 people. A captain, guide, and cook/all around help. They were amazing. We cruised through the San Juan islands and our guide was very helpful and stayed in touch with nearby vessels... More

My husband, family, friends and I went to Anacortes mostly to see whale watching. We looked on several rating websites and decided to go with Island Adventures. We were so thankful we did. July 7th had a super pod of Killer whales out playing. There were 3 small private boats on the water with us and one slightly smaller boat... More

My wife and I manage a local Bed and Breakfast and always recommend Island Adventures. We have personally went on 4 trips and have been blown away by the encounters with not just the whales, but the entire experience of the marine life. Great staff, large and comfortable boats.
