We took a whale watching tour with island Adventures and definitely were not disappointed. The staff was so much fun and made everyone feel so welcome, right from the start of the trip all the way until it was over. We staffed by a pleasant Captain, a very knowledgeable naturalist and an extremely friendly Server at the snack bar. The... More

Anacortes is a little over an hour's drive from Seattle. The tour started at 11 and we were required to check in at 10. The building where you check in has a nice gift shop with lots of wildlife-related gifts for purchase. Our tour was on a Tuesday, so there were maybe only about 35-40 guests on the boat. This... This was a fantastic day out! We saw the big 3 orcas, minke and humpback, plus lots of other species of wildlife. The boat had enough seating undercover when it started to rain and outside seating when it was sunny. The crew were acting like your typical American entertainment production but were friendly enough. Over all a great day! Thanks

We fell in love with Anacortes, in no small part thanks to Ashley at the Island Adventures store. She of course signed us up for what turned out to be a beautiful day on the water (unfortunately we didn't see orcas, but enjoyed minkes, loads of seals, a bald eagle, and scenery that was so breath-taking you forgot you were... We pretty much planned a trip around going out whale watching with "Island Adventures" and we were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and thoughtful. We did manage to see a few seals sunning on the rocks as we left. After about 90 minutes, Captain Scott announced "whales ahead!". The next 3 hours were full of Orca sightings, 3 pods... More

Thank you for leaving a review! We have a great boat, amazing staff, large range, and communicate regularly with other captains in the area. With all of these things working together, we can guarantee whales. We were more than happy to take you the distance to see whales on your tour. Sometimes such as days such as this, we have... More

We had a wonderful trip with Island Adventures on 6 September 2014. We were surrounded by 5 killer whales which stayed around our boat for more than 1.5 hour. Further on, we spotted a few minke whales, seales and a lot of birds. Both the enthusiasm and knowledge of the crew were really great. Thank you for a wonderful day!

The fall season is a great time to go our on the water because of the opportunity to see so much diverse wildlife. In the fall months there is a great chance to see more than one type of whale on a tour. In this case the "slinky" minke whales were spotted along with a group of orca whales. We... More

I went on this tour last year, and it was super fun. I had to come back for more, as September is a great time to observe orca whales feeding on salmon in the Salish Sea. My expectations were exceeded for the entire day on this year's whale watching cruise out of Anacortes. We left the harbor around 11am (10:30am... More

The staff was very friendly checking us in. It was well organized. However, it was okay to bring food and drinks on with you and we didn't know that in advance. The food on board was okay. All that aside we saw sooooo many whales it was amazing. The whales were on both sides of the boat and we got... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your tour with our company. This was my first time whale watching, Captain Carl, Brooke, and the Rookie Eli were awesome. We saw our first whale within a hour of being out on the water. The crew were amazing and went along with my best friend and I as we named the whales and did our special whale calls. LOL. I would def recommend this... More

We love to meet if not exceed our guest’s expectations on our tours. We leave the dock everyday not knowing where the whales and wildlife are. Along with our close network of commercial fishing boats, and other whale watching companies we go out looking for the whales everyday. There are days when we have to travel a little further to... This company out of Anacortes runs a 4-5 hour whale watch and they will let you come back free if they don't find whales. The boat was plenty large enough for the 40 or so people taking the tour on the day we were on it. The boat allows passengers to bring food and drinks on board and our big... More

As advertised our trips are 5-6 hour guaranteed whale-watching excursions. At Island Adventures we are serious about finding whales. This is a challenge every day because the whales never stop moving! If you do not see a whale (orca, minke, gray, or humpback) with us you will come again for free, for life, until you do. This is a passion... More
