Because of our very high success rate, Island Adventures was one of the first and only companies to guarantee whale sightings on every tour - but it's our team of highly qualified crew that will make your trip unforgettable! They boast over 100 years of combined experience in the islands, over 4100 days with the whales, and have led excursions for over 80,000 satisfied customers. « less

The staff was very friendly checking us in. It was well organized. However, it was okay to bring food and drinks on with you and we didn't know that in advance. The food on board was okay. All that aside we saw sooooo many whales it was amazing. The whales were on both sides of the boat and we got... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your tour with our company. We try our best to let passengers know ahead of time that we welcome guests to bring food or beverage on the boat with them. We also remind guests upon check in about dressing warm in layers as well as that they are welcome to... More

This was my first time whale watching, Captain Carl, Brooke, and the Rookie Eli were awesome. We saw our first whale within a hour of being out on the water. The crew were amazing and went along with my best friend and I as we named the whales and did our special whale calls. LOL. I would def recommend this... More

We love to meet if not exceed our guest’s expectations on our tours. We leave the dock everyday not knowing where the whales and wildlife are. Along with our close network of commercial fishing boats, and other whale watching companies we go out looking for the whales everyday. There are days when we have to travel a little further to... This company out of Anacortes runs a 4-5 hour whale watch and they will let you come back free if they don't find whales. The boat was plenty large enough for the 40 or so people taking the tour on the day we were on it. The boat allows passengers to bring food and drinks on board and our big... More

As advertised our trips are 5-6 hour guaranteed whale-watching excursions. At Island Adventures we are serious about finding whales. This is a challenge every day because the whales never stop moving! If you do not see a whale (orca, minke, gray, or humpback) with us you will come again for free, for life, until you do. This is a passion... More

We drove up to Anacortes from the Seattle area, not knowing if we would make it in time for an 11:00 am trip. They had just enough space available for our family, and we hopped on with only a few minutes to spare. It was our lucky day! We saw what the naturalist called a transient superpod of 26-27 orcas.... Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent trip. Glad to you hear you and your family were able to make it on board the boat. I know the traffic coming from Seattle can be a little unpredictable. Our goal on every trip is to give each passenger a memorable experience by showing the best possible... More

First of all, it was a beautiful drive up to Anacortes! And they have a great donut shop there also! We really enjoyed the whaling tour. We were lucky enough to have it only 1/3rd booked so there was plenty of room on the boat and we got a lot of personal attention. But most of all, we saw lots... More

The five hour tour left Port Angeles, Washington, the 101-foot-long "Island Explorer 3" headed for known ORCA locations in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. After crossing into Canadian waters "J-Pod" was located. At least 15 whales could be counted. The vessel paralleled the pod for several miles affording great visual and photo opportunities over about 45 minutes. People on... More

We really enjoyed the entire trip (6 hrs) We were going to travel to San Juan island to see the area and instead joined island adventures for whale watching. What a treat we saw minke, humpback, seals porpoises, and we had a beautiful tour of the islands to boot. The staff was great, entertaining and helpful.

Anacortes is the home port to the San Juan island and the best place to watch Orca and MINKE Whales. After 11/2 hour drive from Kirkland WA, we reached the point .The ferry left at 11am and 51/2 hour journey in the Ocean was quite thrilling and enjoyable . An hour after we started, we came across many places where... More

We lived in the Seattle area for almost 15 years, but never managed to make the time to go whale watching. So when we recently planned a trip to Seattle to watch the Seahawks season opener as an anniversary present to ourselves, we tacked on a few extra days to fit in some other things as well. First on our... More

We are so glad you chose to celebrate your anniversary with Island Adventures. For some reason a lot of local citizens have not experienced a whale watching tour until they come back to visit or they have family who visits. Whale watching is a must do whenever anyone is in the Pacific Northwest area. The Port Angeles program this year... More

We had a beautiful day and an almost empty boat -- what a great way to explore Puget Sound, see the skyline of Victoria, Canada, and admire the peaks of the Olympic Mountains! We followed a humpback whale for more than an hour while the crew educated us about the whales and other wildlife. The entire trip was almost 5... More

It sounds like you had a great day out on the water! We have really been having a great time running our Port Angeles trips this season. As you mentioned, our friendly, knowledgeable crew members are always happy to answer questions and offer information on the whales, wildlife, and islands we come across. All of our trips are 5-6 hours... More
