I researched lots of orca tours, and ultimately picked IA based on a tip from a coworker. So glad I did! The boat ride out was fast and amazing! The orcas were on the west side of San Juan Island but we were able to get out there in about an hour, leaving us with plenty of whale-watching time. We... More

What an amazing afternoon we had with Mike, Brooke and Eli! The adventure started with lighthearted instructions from the captain and suggestions from the naturalist. Within an hour, two pods of orcas were within sight, providing us with breathtaking views of their lives in the wild. Throughout the 5 hour ride, Mike and Brooke kept us informed and if their... We ended up going on 2 separate whale watching tours. The first we seen mine whales but the second trip we got to see orcas. This trip was magnificent and the crew was great. Even the food was better than we expected.

The BOAT: - it's has a double deck both of which offer shelter. The top has heat lamps in the table area but if you want full protection from the elements, go to the bottom deck. There was plenty of places to sit for everyone. No jockeying for best seats were necessary. Everyone moved around depending on how chilly it... More

We took the afternoon trip on the Island Explorer and had an amazing time! The San Juan Islands are beautiful and we were lucky enough to see orcas, a mink whale, seals, a sea lion, a deer and a bald eagle! We were the only commercial whale-watching boat and the orcas (three younger ones) spent considerable time not too far... More

My dad and I had a great trip with Island Adventures. Super nice crew who went above and beyond to make sure we saw every sea creature possible. We were fortunate to have nice weather, too, but make sure you bring extra layers, just in case. This company is great!

We got up close to a few whale pods although we spent most of the time traveling to the locations where the whales were located at. Pleasant rude on a beautiful day on a one hundred foot long double decker vessel!

What an amazing experience this was! Wow! We saw a family of Orcas, a sea lion, and a couple of bald eagles. Captain Michael was great, very engaging and knowledgable. The naturist (forgot her name) was full of interesting information. My husband, two kids and myself really had a great time.

Seattle has the OMG peaches, but Anacortes has the OMG island adventures. My daughter and I had an amazing day out with the Captain, Brooke and Phoenix on Monday 17th of August. They were able to get us to see three types of whales amongst other gorgeous creatures. During the down times, I was most impressed with Brooke, her knowledge... More

We went whale watching on August 13, 2015 and loved this trip! The crew was very informative and they worked hard to get us what we were looking for WHALES! we were able to see 1 minke whale, but the highlight was the captain finding (with communication from other boats) 3 different Orca pods, which he got us up close...
