My husband, family, friends and I went to Anacortes mostly to see whale watching. We looked on several rating websites and decided to go with Island Adventures. We were so thankful we did. July 7th had a super pod of Killer whales out playing. There were 3 small private boats on the water with us and one slightly smaller boat... More

My wife and I manage a local Bed and Breakfast and always recommend Island Adventures. We have personally went on 4 trips and have been blown away by the encounters with not just the whales, but the entire experience of the marine life. Great staff, large and comfortable boats.

We made our reservations months ago but the anticipation was unbearable. After going through tons of whale reports on the Island Adventure website I couldn't wait. We left in a light rain which didn't stop us. Saw eagles, dolphins, harbor seals, stellar sea lions, and an unidentified humpback. The sky ended up clearing up and we followed the humpback for over... Thank you so much for your review. We are so happy to hear the wait was worth it! The whale report is a fun daily reminder of all the possibly critters you can see on any tour. This season at Island Adventures has been phenomenal and that excellence has continued into the cooler, wet fall months. Our staff strives to... More

Island Adventures now has a Port Angeles location and that is where we set off in search of whales. It was a perfect blue sky October day and we saw two humpbacks! An extra bonus was a huge group of super fast Pacific white sided dolphins who raced and played along side our boat for an extended period. The crew... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our company. This time of year is one of the best times to come to this area to see humpback whales, but you have the opportunity to see up to 5 different kinds of whales on any of our tours. Another plus on any tour is that there is so... More

We left from Port Angeles on a perfect September morning. And although it was cold (bring gloves) and very sunny (bring sun screen) it was a wonderful day. The crew was knowledgeable and friendly and we felt it was money very well spent. We saw 30+ killer whales, 2 humpbacks and numerous seals and sea lions. There were many boats... More

We're so glad that you got to be there on that exceptional day! We love it when we can show passengers multiple kinds of whales in one trip! As you say, we do follow all state and federal guidelines that dictate how far we must stay away from the whales, but the design of both of our boats allow passengers... More

This was a great whale watching trip! The crew was well informed, helpful, and friendly. We saw many whales and very close. The trip through the San Juan islands was beautiful! Parking was easy. The crew was well informed about whale/dolphin safety and protection. I highly recommend this company if you want to see whales!

Thanks for reviewing your tour with Island Adventures! We have been having a spectacular season (we've seen whales every day since May 9th,) beating even our normal success rate of 96%. It sounds like the tour you were on was especially great! As you said, we are always very careful around whales, obeying all state and federal regulations which require... More

Thank you for coming out with us again! We're glad to hear that both your trips were fun and memorable. Every day with whales and wildlife is different, but you can always count on us doing everything we can to find you the best show possible out on the water. We hope to see you again soon! More

We took a whale watching tour with island Adventures and definitely were not disappointed. The staff was so much fun and made everyone feel so welcome, right from the start of the trip all the way until it was over. We staffed by a pleasant Captain, a very knowledgeable naturalist and an extremely friendly Server at the snack bar. The... More

Thank you for your review! We appreciate our passengers taking the time after their tour to review our company. All of our trips are 5-6 hours long, as advertised. We have found that is the best tour length to balance passenger comfort with whale and wildlife viewing opportunities. Our goal is to show our guests as many whales and wildlife... More

Anacortes is a little over an hour's drive from Seattle. The tour started at 11 and we were required to check in at 10. The building where you check in has a nice gift shop with lots of wildlife-related gifts for purchase. Our tour was on a Tuesday, so there were maybe only about 35-40 guests on the boat. This... Thank you so much for taking the time to review you recent tour. The Island Explorer 3 was actually built specifically to function as a whale watching boat and even at full coast guard certified capacity, there is still room for 100 additional passengers. This absolutely ensures enough seating and space at the railings for everyone to comfortably watch whales... More

This was a fantastic day out! We saw the big 3 orcas, minke and humpback, plus lots of other species of wildlife. The boat had enough seating undercover when it started to rain and outside seating when it was sunny. The crew were acting like your typical American entertainment production but were friendly enough. Over all a great day! Thanks

Thanks for your review! What a trip! It's so exciting when we can see all three species of whales commonly found in this area on one tour. The fall season is a wonderful time for whale, and we guarantee whales on every trip we take, no matter the time of year you whale watch with us. The Island Explorer 3... More
