We just moved to the PNW and we are loving to just explore and find new gems around us. This was a discovery based on referral from friends and coworkers and we drove up to the top of Mt. Erie to enjoy dinner with an incredible view of the San Juans. We look forward to many future memories of hiking... More

Just moved to the area and was just looking for something to do that would end up in a nice view...but close to home. I wish I would have hiked up to the summit but not having a map (even though you can take a photo with your cell phone of the one at the viewing area parking lot just... More

Love the narrow winding road to the top. Great views but you have to find the one without the trees in front. the walkway down from the parking area is blocked by trees. To the right of that is a rock path with better vista view.

this is a stop not to be missed when you are in the Anacortes area. Our foreign visitors almost couldn't believe their eyes. We take everyone up here to feast their eyes on the scenery below them - Campbell Lake, the San Juan Islands, views to the south of Whidbey. You drive up there on a somewhat narrow and curvy... The views from atop Mt. Erie are fantastic. You can see over the San Juan Islands and out to Vancouver Island.

Lived in the area for a few years and enjoyed Mt Erie several times. Best view for 4th of July fireworks, brought a blanket and sat on the rocks.

Another curvy winding road worth the trip up and down. Just take it slow...it's not a race to the top/bottom. :)

Mt. Erie Park is in the Heart Lake section of Anacortes Community Forest Lands. The paved road to the top of Mount Erie is only the beginning. There are also trails to the top. At the base of the mountain, there is a parking area and an informative kiosk, and the start of some trails. There are no restroom facilities... More

One can drive or hike to the top of Mt Erie. The views are outstanding and well worth the effort. There are also trails that will take you to Whistle Lake or to the top of Sugarloaf.
