I have been a season subscriber to Synetic Theater for a number of years. They never cease to amaze me. Paata and his wife are phenomenal. And they have really gifted actors. Whether it is one of their wordless Shakespeare productions or another show with speaking parts, I am always amazed by the compelling physical performances. If you have never... More

This theater is small-ish and cozy so there really are no bad seats. So, the theater is great. I was there and saw A Midsummer Night's Dream… which was good and strange. Most plays have some level of interpretation but this one was… out there a bit. Now, was it still good, yes. Were the costumes colorful, yes. Would I... More

I have now seen two shows at Synetic - Portrait of Dorian Gray and Midsummer Night's Dream. Both were beautifully done, and the actors all flawlessly blend silent expression, dance, and acrobatics. The shows at Synetic have a rawer feel than those of other theatre companies, and sometimes it's a bit edgier, which makes for fantastic evenings out.

Be sure to see any play in their Silent Shakespeare series. It will knock your socks off. And their other offerings will expand your horizons. The incredible staging is brilliant and exciting, and the deft and daring physicality of the actors will make you swear to get to the gym more often. GO TO THIS THEATRE !!

A fun smaller theater set inside a mall. The actors were great and the ambiance was fun. The show we saw was in its early runs and seemed to run without a hitch. Waiting for the theater to open its doors it did get a little crowded in the mezzanine.

You have to look a bit for the theater - in the Crystal City Underground, across from the parking - but the experience once you get there is well worth it. Beauty and the Beast was told through acting, acrobatics, "shadow theater," pantomime, beautiful lighting, and a bit of narration. A beautiful, creative experience. The theater is only a couple... We are 'theater buffs', being subscribers to Synetic for a number of years now. We also go to numerous other theaters in the Arlington, DC, MD area and are volunteer ushers at a few more. (Some people spend time and $$$ golfing, fishing, going to pro sports, collecting toy trains ... we go to the theater.) Synetic T in Crystal... More

My husband and I recently spent an evening enjoying Beauty and the Beast. Like previous productions we've been to (Midsummer Night's Dream, Portrait of Dorian Grey), B&B was inventive and was a refreshing change from the Disney version. I enjoyed the telling of the old folk tale. We had gotten used to seeing stories acted out without words so we... More

Fusion is fascinating! I went to the Synetic theater expecting the musical Jekyll and Hyde. Instead, I got a ticket to 90 minutes of music, acting, gymnastics, dance, lights, film, special effects and not one spoken word. It was truly a spectacular theatrical experience!!! Other perks! 1. I went to a pay what you can preview! 2. free parking in... More

I have been attending Synetic's SIlent Shakespeare series for years - your first reaction will be that Shakespeare without the text just cannot work. Trust me, it does. The story and emotions are conveyed through movement, costumes, original music and inventive staging (for The Tempest a water pool covered most of the stage evoking the sea and island setting of...
