Unlike some waterfront areas, this was clean and well kept. The water wasn't full of trash and there were numerous fish visible in the water. You are within walking distance of many shops (surprise!!) and very nice restaurants.

I love this harbor. Lots of eateries and a round trip ticket to The National Harbor is just $16.00. Be sure to visit The Torpedo Factory - it has 3 floors of artist and history.
Great views of the Potomac River and the Washington monuments. Be sure to visit the Torpedo Factory, a large space with artist studios and exhibitions. Also plenty of good places to eat and shop, take a river cruise, go to a day spa.

Food options - many, food - good, events-quite a few... ambiance - chilled out, park - huge & good, good picnic spot, play with your dog or jog or play volleyball... relax on the river side on the grass... walk on the historically maintained streets (shuttle service available connecting to Kings Street Metro station),...

First of all i expected the area to be jammed with tourists...thankfully it was not. Lots of wide open space along the waters edge with the nearby park. Anyone of any age would enjoy this area. Pick up some sandwiches and sit under a tree...a gorgeous setting. It is refreshing to me to see the city planners putting some thought...

A great place to take pictures! :D Loved walking down to the waterfront after dinner, and taking in all the beauty. Definitely check it out!
The waterfront opens onto the Potomac River. There's a Charthouse for drinks or dinner and lots of places for strolling. As part of the "Old Town" there are many historic buildings that make it charming. There are many restaurants and shopping opportunities. I agree with the previous reviewer that I wouldn't go out of my way if I had limited...

Love this part of Old Town Alexandria. After all Alexandria is a seaport town. Taking a nice walk around where the boats are is really nice, especially in the springtime
