Walk the beautiful waterfront. Take advantage of great dining establishments and unique shops on the waterfront or in historic Old-Town. Use the water taxi to go to other side of Potomac River or take a tour cruise.

Old Town Alexandria is the nicest waterfront in the Washington area combining Colonial charm, excellent restaurants and many open areas and parks along the Potomac. You can visit places George Washington frequented, dine overlooking the river and take a lovely stroll along its banks. The city is small enough to enjoy by foot but with a wide variety of attractions.

We waited at the train station across the street from our hotel for the free trolley. It runs every 15 minutes and stops every two blocks or by request. We took it all the way down to the last stop, the Old Town Waterfront. It's about a 15-20 minute ride. The Waterfront is small but you can enjoy nice views... More

The town's waterfront has been developed with restaurants, boat docks, water tours, a boat marina, and lots of open spaces for street performers. A very busy, lively venue that is sure to entertain visitors.

The Waterfront is just OK. Some interesting street performers or artists sometimes, but other than that it is not that appealing. Being on the water is it's only redeeming value.

This is where everyone congregates to enjoy the evenings. Peaceful walk through the park, enjoy Torpedo Factory, watch the boats go by or go for a river cruise. Very pleasant and must see.

Multiple restaurant and dessert selections . The homemade ice cream, you'll stand in line for a few minutes, well worth it. You can walk, bike the trail into DC & back to the waterfront. Great on a nice sunny day; however, it is a flood zone, but still enjoyable. You can see the planes take off & land; Woodrow Wilson... More

Great places to dine. Take a cruise or just enjoy the view from a bench. Shop for art at the Torpedo Factory and find fun gifts for grandkids at their gift shop.
