A great attraction to go to! We've been there many times already, but still love to go back every time we are in town. Great art and you get to meet the artists on site. Beautiful water view even just to walk around outside. Highly recommended :)

We live in Alexandria and come to the Torpedo Factory several times a year. Often we just roam the three floors for new pottery, paintings, etc. We occasionally buy from one exhibitor or another. Connie Slack, an artist on the third floor, has wonderful paintings. We have two of her large paintings in our living room and enjoy them very... More

Great place to wander, and experience original artwork. It's a series of small studios/shops on three floors. We went on an overcast Sunday. About one third of the spaces were closed for one reason or another, yet there was still plenty to enjoy. If you venture all the way up to the 3rd floor, some of the studios on the... More

We visited just after Christmas 201, and highly recommend this wonderful museum/gallery of artwork in Old Town Alexandria (located at the very end of King Street on the pier). So many wonderful works of art to enjoy and the building and historical exhibits were interesting as well!

If you're visiting Alexandria I would highly recommend visiting the Torpedo Factory. My family and I (wife and 14 year old son) spent a couple of hours wandering through the assorted galleries and really enjoyed ourselves. This is pretty serious art by the way with many of the artists themselves present and more than willing to speak with you about... More

We stopped here to pass some time before we went to dinner. It is a nice place with many studios of artists and their works that they sell. There were only a handful of shops that I would consider buying something. Not much appealed to my tastes. The items are pricey. I did like the historical aspect and "museum" on... More

Over 60 uniquely presented art studious through three floors. Incredibly impressive pieces of work. Make it a must to visit. Deep pockets are a must.

I would call this place the highlight of the waterfront. The Old Town Alexandria waterfront was not what I was expecting. This place however was a little hidden gem among the other store spaces which were mostly empty or under construction. This place offers 3 levels of cubicles where you can not only by art of all types, but watch... More

I took a group to this center and it's ok but the items being sold are quite pricy, I feel. It was fun to browse the artists working on projects and the location is beautiful (on the water) but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit. The shops on King Street we found far more interesting.

This has to be one of the coolest art museums. First of all, it is located right on the Potomac waterfront which is a beautiful location. But the best part of this museum is that you get to see all the artists working in their medium, whether it is painting, sculpting, jewelry design, etc. You can purchase their work from... More
