Nice Taxi Ride

Great service & ride from Alexandria to Georgetown. The narrative could have been a little louder. Worth $13 one-way. They give a small military discount on round-trip rides.

Was looking for a way to see the key sights and enjoy nature at the same time. The water monuments cruise fit the bill. I had a good time and would do the cruise again. Here are my positives and negatives, leveraging what others have mentioned. Pros: * It was wonderful being out on the actual Potomac River. There was... More

Took the moonlight cruise from Georgetown to Alexandria and the Mt Vernon tour. Nice, clean boats and on time. I would recommend you have at least one trip on the Potomac during your visit.

We got the subway from Union Square to Alexandria and had a nice morning just mooching about the place. There is a free bus from Alexandria station to the marina that runs down Kings Street. We then took the ferry back to Georg Town in Washington DC and spent the afternoon at the marina there, including a good lunch before... More

Boat tour was cool, (well closer to cold!) but would have rather driven to Alexandria and stopped to take pictures of the monuments at night! Didn't have much time in old towne Alexandria due to schedule. Not bad trip, just ok..

We took the so called Monument Tour on a beautiful September afternoon. The boat is pretty spartan, but was not crowded. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase on board. As mentioned by others the views of the D.C. monuments is not great but the recorded narrative was nonetheless interesting and informative. We took the cruise round trip with a... More

We went on the monument cruise around dusk; while I firmly believe that evening is the best time to see the monuments, the riverboat tours are, sadly, not the best way to see the monuments. They are visible, but distant and you can really only see the Washington Monument, the Masonic Memorial (in Alexandria) and the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials.... More

Took the Washington Monument Tour with the Potomac riverboat company. The boat ride itself was fine. The tour information was provided with a recording, which would be fine, except it was difficult to hear. The worst part of the experience, though, was the crew. Not a smile, a hello, or a welcome aboard from any of them. There were several... More

First day we were in the area, we had gone to old town Alexandria and knocked around, ended up on the waterfront and thought the river tour sounded like a good idea. It was hot and humid that day and it felt good to be out on the water. Took the monuments cruise, up the Potomac to Georgetown and then... More

Took the Monuments Cruise at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. It was a pleasant end to our day, good to sit down and enjoy a leisurely sail along the Potomac. Saw plenty of sights and even though we had visited the monuments on foot on the previous day, it was nice to see them from a different... More
