Very pretty surroundings, stunning tasting area and very nice wines. Incredibly diverse selection of grapes make for interesting blends here. Well worth the trip!

Afton Vineyards is located near Charlottesville, Va.. I spent an afternoon there with a number of friends from Richmond Va, it takes about 1.5 hr to get there. The facilities are exceptional. The views are stunning. They have a number of wines, both Red and White which are very, very good. Something for everyone's taste in wines. The wines are... More

The grounds of Afton Mtn Vineyards is absolutely stunning! Their pavilion is a perfect spot to sit with a group, enjoy a glass, and the views! Our tasting was good but I got a funny feeling of this place. The owner greeted us as we entered with a simple "hello" and the person giving the tasting didn't engage too much.... More

We went to Afton Mountain Vineyards on a whim one Sunday afternoon and the view alone was worth the drive. The tasting room was very pretty and had a sitting room and outdoor space as well. We didn't get to taste as many wines as at some places--there were a couple of whites and several reds. I can't say that... More

Last year, my group of friends went to the winery and were refused a tasting because we were a group of seven and not six. This year, we made a reservation for seven with the winery management. When we arrived, we were told that we had reserved a picnic, my friend quickly pulled her email reservation from the winery from... More

Many of the wineries in this area have pretty views, but this was one of the more breathtaking spots. Rather small tasting room, but numerous other rooms to sit and visit in, as well as outdoor seating overlooking the valley. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Enjoyed the wine, beautiful view, but we were kicked out off the property when they closed. I've never been to a winery that was so rude to paying customers. They clearly wanted to leave, even though we had paid for glasses and additional bottles of wine. Crazy!

.....new owners for about a year.....knowledgable and friendly wine flight server....one of the best wineries of the 10 or so we visited and took a half case home in a nice cloth wine holder. Nice views.

I have been to about 10 wineries around Charlottesville, VA and this one ranks 1-2. I just loved the venue and the wines. Most of their wines are produced from estate grown grapes and are obviously crafted by a very skilled winemaker. The servers were were very engaging and knowledgeable. I came home with some Pinot Noir and Festa de... More

Been here a few times. Snow covered fields the last. Autumn days on the patio drinking a bottle of their Mountain White is a lasting pleasant time. Servers can be a bit snooty, but forget them and the overall experience is memorable any season..
