We visited Abingdon and decided to see a play. You have several choices at this wonderful theatre and we chose Marvelous Wonderettes. What a great production. The talent was shining Friday evening in this great little musical. We loved it!

I've seen many plays at the Barter in the past thirty years, but this is my second favorite (Girl of my Dreams is still #1 For me). The place was packed from a weekday matinee, so I'm guessing tickets are very much in demand. Don't miss it though. The music is wonderful and the acting superb!

We always enjoy going to see the productions at the Barter! The Barter is so rich in history and the productions are always great whether it is a musical, a drama, or a comedy.

Every time I have vacationed in the Bristol, TN area for the past 20 years, my friends and I have visited Barter Theatre for great plays, musicals and entertainment. Southern Fried Nuptuals is no exception. The cast is great with a perfect comedic delivery. There are several available shows between the Barter Theatre and Stage Two during the season that... More

First rate performances by extremely talented actors. We have seen numerous plays on the main stage, stage 2 and now in the tent. It is worth the 2 hour drive from Roanoke to see the plays. We recently brought our granddaughters to see Mary Poppins and the staff made sure the youngest had a booster seat so she could see.... More

We saw Southern Fried Nuptuals. It was a cute little play. The theatre and town are both lovely. This is our second visit and will probably go again sometime. Love the brick sidewalks and local eateries.

The car club did its first overnight drive in several years and we stayed in Abingdon. One of two destinations was the hysterical play "Southern Fried Nuptials" Buying the tickets was easy, the place is beautiful with the air of old theater, and we laughed ourselves silly with the fabulous portrayal of a Southern family in turmoil in a ludicrous... As I traversed the 2 hours through the mountains, I was questioning whether or not, despite the glowing reviews, if this trip would be worth it. The Barter more than delivered. Beautiful venue whose size only added to the warmth of the experience. The people were the most welcoming and hospitable of any we have visited. The performers were great,... More

We enjoyed a performance by four very talented young women in "The Marvelous Wonderettes" in the Barter's Stage II. This is a very small venue in what was once a Methodist church. Each Wonderette met the high performance standards we've come to expect at the Barter. Be aware that getting in and out of seats can be difficult for some;... More
