We stopped here while touring the area. It is a small shop that has a bit of everything, including of course some great cheese choices. Small items, gifts, clothing, and so on. Of special note, the sales woman at the store was very nice. True Vermont hospitality. If you are driving by, or in the area, stop by !!!

My husband and I stopped at the Vermont Cheese House on our way home from visiting Hildene and Manchester, Vermont. We were welcomed, informed, and given great service. We bought several pieces of cheese and a few pounds of fudge. We were informed about the types of cheeses available. An ice pack was made available (for a small fee) for... More

The proprietor and staff - a wonderful experience in exploring cheese. They have local cheeses from the top producers around Vermont and are able to help every type of traveler. When we asked where some of the producers were located they were more than willing to provide all the contact information, locations, and types of cheeses we should try. A... More

Every year my girlfriend and I make our trip to the Cheese house. We love the local cheeses, ranging from the trucker cheese to the smoked cheeses. The customer service is great and we leave a happy couple.

Wow. I'd go back there today if I could. Oddly, I am from Wisconsin and come from a family with a history in the dairy business. Vermont has some amazing cheeses and I am very excited about its future. The young lady who waited on us was so helpful, informative, and intuitive with her selections for us. She helped us... More

Vermont used to mean cheddar, and still makes tons of it. But these days artisanal producers are recreating some of the classic European farmstead cheeses. You can try to visit all of the cheesemakers in Vermont and sample their wares (and we have visited many of them) but if you want to try many of the best cheeses Vermont has... More

We've visited there several times; their Truck Driver cheese aged four years and maybe the best cheddar I've ever had. Their Rat Trap is also very good. There's a decent selection of other goods, but the cheese makes it a standout.

It seems that the Vermont of yesteryear has fled this area, which is catering to the Manchester shopping frenzy tourist crowd. This was my last stop on the way home, and I decided to get the makings of an easy dinner of Vermont products. For $40, I got a box of stale crackers; a bland, thin soup mix (I didn't... More

Lots of cheese selections and all over priced. You would get a better selection by going to a local large supermarket.
