Well run, great snow and can be as good as it gets. It is a skier's area. Vail, Whistler and Aspen it is not. On the other hand, it is in the same league for different reasons, all the right one's...

Spectacular scenery, lots of snow (even in an off year) challenging terrain with skiing for all levels, cheap lift ticket (compared to others) and no snowboards allowed.

Skiied two days at Alta over Presidents weekend. The trails were well groomed and the lifts were quick. Nice variety of terrain for the whole family. Didn't wait in line too much. Fresh snowfall helped too. Had lunch at Watson's restaurant mid-mountain. Cute little restaurant where you can take off your ski boots and put cozy slippers on if you... More

Skiiers only and fabulous because of it. This resort remembers polite skiing and folks let you know when they are coming behind you and stop to help each other out. can't find better snow or better people than at this resort!

There were no crowds the day we were there so no wait for lifts and less concern that they were a little slower than the park city lifts. The kids' instructors were friendly and the school seemed organized and secure. Only downside is that there appears to be a big step between greens and blues. Greens had long flat areas... More

Perfect skiing conditions with lots of snow. Lacks the high speed quads that some of the bigger resorts use to put people on the slopes faster, but somehow you don't mind as it is so beautiful.

I know its cliche' but they really do have amazing snow. Even on an "off" snow year, you could always find soft, fresh snow to ski in. The only thing I would change would be to have every lift there be high speed. On a Saturday, you will wait in long lift lines, even on non powder days. But the... More

Alta is one of the original Utah resorts. Great slopes. Great powder. Only skiers, no snow boarders.

I grew up here! Dad taught me to ski here on the rope tow. Grandpa was the mailman to the homes and resorts here in Alta for 63 years, from 1921 to 1984! This is the absolute best skiing on the planet. Huge powder, great slopes and the best snow on earth. Really, no kidding. Nature has a way with... More

I went with my girlfriend who is an experienced skiing and I am by all definitions a level 1 skier, so I wasn't sure how the day would go. Ski rental was very affordable and they had a special deal that was only for green runs. Runs were well groomed and eventhough I had lots of falls, it was a... More
