Great terrain with a nice variety of runs. Of all the places to ski in Utah it is an all around favorite. Never disappointed in the staff or facilities. The only variable is mother nature.

Alta is sensational! The mountain is conveniently located near Salt Lake City (about 40 minutes away), and it gets some of the best snowfall in all of Utah. As a family, we have spent three spring-skiing seasons here and absolutely love it! The prices are reasonable, the people are incredibly nice and helpful, ski school staff is fantastic, and it... I just skied Alta in late March. Everyone said..."oh man, this is the year to ski the east...the rockies are no good". Well, just so you know: Alta was awesome. Was it the best I've ever seen it? No way. But it was still a fantastic week, with four days spent skiing in the shadow of Mt. Baldy: Supreme, Sugarloaf,... More

We skied Alta in December during our holiday break and it was amazing. It was freezing cold (7 degrees on the mountain that day), but they had 18 inches of fresh snow and it was incredible! The lines move quickly and efficiently, the new pass readers make it so much easier to get in line and to keep the lines... More

Great terrain, trees, bowls, just a lack of snow this year which is rare. Be prepared for the impact of elevation as you'll be above 10,000ft. A real winner of a Mtn. Always on my UT hit list.

What a great mountain when it has good snow! However, their snow groomers do not have the equipment to groom "hard pack." (ice). They need to take some lesions from the East, Alta is not used to having no fresh snow and they can't handle those conditions

Alta is a bit on the old side but has great snow and awesome skiing. Not the best amenities, but best skiing in North America!

We traveled from the Canyons to Alta and what a difference in the snow. I love this mountain. It is not pretentious and definitely a locals spot. The older skiers (men and women in their 70s) were awesome skiers and gave my kids 11 and 13 year old boys hints on fun runs. We ate at the mid mountain lodge... More

We went to Park City one day but the snow was not as good as Alta. We spent 4 days at Alta and there were slopes for the novice and the experts which joined at the same lift which made it a great family event. Most of the slopes were open which was great at this time of year. Fun... More
