Powder when no one else has it!

I love Alta and while we were there this year we skied in snow almost everyday. The other SLC resorts got rain. Alta is the place to be!

What a fantastic ski area. Beautiful scenery. Amazing runs for all abilities. Amount of runs seems small but I think there are a lot more miles of unpisted areas so I think there are days of fun to be had. We only stayed 1 day but would have loved to have done more!

Totally biased I have skied here for 27 years and always will. Love the place from the steep and varied terrain to the people. Even in a low snow year like this one there was still enough variety.

It has been a very warm week with temperatures in the sixties in the Salt Lake City area. The higher elevations of Alta help save the snow. Good skiing today. Someday the staff may realize that they are in the service industry - not there now.

Pros: Nice mountain layout, plenty of green runs for my wife. It got windy after lunch and they closed to higher lifts down which made for heavier lift lines. Still all in all a great day! Cons: The interconnect lift at the bottom was strange to get from one base area to the other. a little better engineering of the... More

Utah advertises itself as having the 'best snow on earth'. Skiing at Alta proved that claim to be true. Alta is a skiers' mountain with a huge variety of terrain. Even though the snowfall this winter was well below the usual, skiing at Alta was a fantastic experience. It, along with several other ski mountains, is very close to several... More

No surprise the level of snow has been really low this year in several areas. In spite of this we had a great time. The weather was fantastic. We skied more groomers than usual but what the heck. Good to be out there.

Alta is a beautiful and peaceful place to ski, the mountain is majestic yet terrifying up top I hope they will always preserve the natural beauty of these slopes as it feels almost like you have stepped back in time Although I do have a snowboarder, I enjoy skiing without the boarders around me and all the noise, it's so... Medium sized ski hill, similiar to Alpine at Tahoe. Only 3 decent lifts, Collins, Sugarloaf & Supreme. I got bored after one day & spent the rest of the time at Snowbird. If you want to ski groomers & ski with a bunch of old people this is your spot. No snowboards, so there are a bunch of people over... More

When you pair it with Snowbird, you've got a killer place to ski and relax. Great snow. Great vibe. Just mountains, pure and simple.
