My friend and I packed a picnic lunch and visited Mayfield on a beautiful Austin day. The peacocks were well worth the visit. They were all over the grounds and showing off for the ladies. The grounds are gorgeous and very easy to walk through.

Tucked away you would never know this place was here. The peacocks are beautiful, the landscaping is beautiful and in spring time the place is alive with so much color and life! A must see. Check out the trail as well!

I got a lot of great pics of the grounds - my friend and I hiked a little bit but not the whole length. The peacocks were really cool to; very pretty, although one of them was a tad ornery. We got pretty close to it though, so s/he was probably just telling us to back off. The port-o-potty on... More

Nice place to hang out in the afternoon. Watch the peacocks, walk the trails. Also fun for people watching as there are numerous people running around with cameras.

Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful parks in Austin. During our visit, the gardens were in full bloom. The ponds were full of turtles and fish. The peacocks were as social as peacocks can be, showing off for all of the guests. The cottages were being used for a private event so we were unable to go through... More

I was wondering why the parking lot was free and so less cars standing there, because the park is quite nice and already the peacocks should get you here! Definitely an insider tip for a nice evening walk and chillout place!

Huge peacocks everywhere! Suck a beautiful thing to see. Along with adorable ponds with turtles and fish. Going on a sunny day was very relaxing.

Charming cottage and gardens, with a group of peacocks totally at home around the grounds. You can visit the house and gardens in about ten minutes, or spend longer roaming the nice trails around the property. Lots of families come with little kids and they are so happy and excited to see the peacocks. I was there in mid-March and... More

I visited Mayfield Park recently with a Nature in the City group and thoroughly enjoyed it. This park is best seen in the spring, early summer and fall (October and November). We were there in the first week of March, so the trees were bare, but the trail was nice--hilly, but not challenging for most people. Quite a few wild... More

We were blown away by this amazing gem. The scenery was breath taking. There was an awesome hiking trail where you literally went on your own adventure based upon the path of your choice. You encounter several spots where you walk across streams on rocks. You are in a very dense area where you are surrounding by mother nature at... More
