Everyone must go to Mayfield Park and see the Peacocks. I can't believe I have lived in Austin for so many years and just went for the first time this spring. Such a beautiful place for photos and hiking. You won't regret it.

My son and I had several hours to occupy so looked for free and fun and outside. Started at TX State Cemetery (yes, go there, too) then headed to Mayfield Park. Found out about it through Trip Adv, and the peacocks are worth a visit. The trails are more interesting, varied and strenuous than I anticipated. I was in flip-flops... More

We've been coming here since my kids were little to stroll around the grounds and visit the peacocks. It's a slice of old, eclectic Austin and a wonderful way to spend an afternoon if you're visiting with small children or looking for some really unusual photos. It's also a favorite with bridal parties for wedding photos.

was here in April and heard about this place on tripadvisor. Nice tiny park but worth the visit. Peacocks are walking around you. If you have time, should drive by. Last about 15-30min of your time

This is a gated but free park that's great for picnics or just strolling around among a well-maintained but not fussy garden full of native plants. There are several ponds as well full of lily pads. You might even see a frog or koi fish. There are also beautiful (and often ornery) peacocks roaming freely. That's really the best reason... More

My family and I love to visit this place when we are in Austin. It's a beautiful glimpse into a simpler time long past. My children love to walk the grounds and see the peacocks and look for fish in the ponds. Very tranquil relaxing place to visit.

Excellent place to see Indian Peacock Show. See my pics attached. You must go when it is Cloudy or just before rain to see peacocks dancing. Many people don't know about this park. So this review/

This is free. Loved walking along with the beautiful Peacocks and Garden area. They have hiking paths also. You can spend and hour here or more if your following the paths.

My first time seeing peacocks !!!! The place is not too far from downtown. It's a clean place too contrary to what a read earlier. They also have picnic tables so next time I hope to grab a bite right next to the beautiful proud birds:-)

Peaceful grounds with beautiful gardens, a small quaint white cottage built in the 1870's, majestic pea cocks roaming freely and ponds with turtles. It's quiet and charming.
