Walked a long trail searching for the peacocks, however they were all located in the cottage next to the trails! SOOOO beautiful!

This is a wonderful place to wander around, and think about whatever you need to think about. There are peacocks wandering, and deer grazing. I didn't run into any other people when I went, so it was as if the place was all mine. I do not believe that dogs are allowed in the park.

We were in Austin in May when the heat was just rolling in and decided to visit Mayfield Park right off Loop 1. It is just a short distance from the highway and at the end of the road off W.35th street. You need to watch for the entrane and there is no sign by the side of the road.... More

It is hard to believe that this park is in the middle of the city because of how it is calm and quiet. It is great place for taking family pics.

Nice place to visit for a nature trail walk, visiting peacocks strolling the walkways, strolling individually tended gardens. There are picnic tables, water fountains, and portable potties for some convenience. Some folks have special events there but visitors always seem to be there as well. We went for the peacocks and strolled the gardens for a nice morning in Austin.

I second most of the other reviews -- serene, lots of peacocks, nice gardens, etc. I'll just add that when we were there in mid-July 2014, there were no bathrooms available, which can be problematic when visiting with children.

I echo the sentiment of the other reviewers. Very serene little gem in the middle of the city. When we were at Mt Bonnel the other day, we drove right by it. This time, we stopped. The park itself is small and they had a wedding in progress. But they were kind enough to let us walk by. The real... More

Nicely hidden natural attraction. Many nice trails along the water. Very peaceful and quiet. Great place to spend an afternoon.

We took a couple hours on a very hot Austin day to visit the Peacocks, Palm Trees and Gardens. The garden plots are maintained by local residence. Some are extremely well cared for, while others seem to have been "a good idea at the time". The formal grounds, which include the cottage and water features are well maintained and the... More

I was looking up fun/free places to go when we went on our trip. I am glad I found this place. There are several peacocks that roam around the grounds area. Beautiful landscaping and the birds are breathtaking. There are coy and frogs in the ponds. This would be a great place for a picnic. My 6 year old loved... More
