The Driskill is a wonderful place to experience grand Austin in style. We saw many wedding parties and had dinner in the cafe. Make sure you look up at the ceilings...such a beautiful place!

We visited here on our Segway tour. Our guide took us inside and showed us around the public areas and told us about the history of the hotel. Nice stop on the tour but not worth a special stop unless for lunch or dinner.

Stop in the bar for a cocktail or cup of coffee. It is classic. People of all ages from suits to blue jeans are welcome.

This hotel is still stunning after all these years. Step back in time to see the opulence $400k could buy at the turn of the century. Beautifully restored to its former glory. 6th Street at this end must have been a good address compared to the other end, The upstairs bar once boasted billiard tables, now it's s spectacular grand... Definitely worth a stop inside. Decor is what I think of about historical Texas. We had a drink in the bar and watched the Cowboys game on TV. Great atmosphere!

The food is usually very unique and very tasty. I especially enjoy ordering the tasting menu with a bottle of wine. However, the portions have seemed to diminish over the last couple years, and a seven course meal no longer satisfies my appetite. The price is high, and the service is solid. Overall all though, for the price, I do... More

Don't miss this if you like architecture, and the history of the place is fascinating. Hard to believe it was so close to the wrecking ball!

The Driskill is what all old grand hotels were in the day. Fortunately, a group of locals banded together and raised money to save it from demolition in the 70's. What a great save! This place with the stained glass all around the huge entry was with the gleaming wood is wonderful. We did not get to eat there, a... More
