I did not stay at this hotel, but stopped in on a Friday night. The bar was hopping and appeared to be a great place for group gatherings given the sofa and table arrangements. The Driskill is known for their chocolate cake and it was fabulous. Luckily, I shared with others or I would have devoured it. Don't miss the... More

One of the first buildings constructed in Austin. Rich in history and mid-1800 charm. Onsite bakery offers items made by original recipes from yesteryear. There's also a lavish and charming bar on second floor that's popular to meet up with friends for drinks. As a family, we enjoyed Christmas high tea. Look at the holiday schedule available online to learn... More

We had a wonderful time with drinks and happy hour at the Driskill bar. Wonderful music, piano, and lovely old time surroundings. Service is excellent. half price munchies, drinks were well made.

We ate breakfast here. Order the quiche, it was hands down the best meal we had in Austin. The hotel's architecture is beautiful. Definitely worth a stop on your trip!

I stayed here with my wife and we enjoyed our stay. Location is great and the building is beautiful. The room we stayed in was a little small but it was big enough, we don't need much space. The restaurants located in the building are good quality as well. Nothing bad to really say about the place and you can't... More

Hotel room was in terrible condition; dirty and in desperate need of repair. After complaining, we were informed that that room needed to be renovated still....interesting in that they charged us an additional fee to upgrade to this luxury room, yet didn't mention the problems until AFTER we complained.

What a cool old hotel. It's been restored to its full grandeur and it is lovely! Had a drink at the bar. Friendly, attentive bartender. Good drinks. A neat place to stop if you are in the area!

Didn't stay here but stopped to see it. It's beautiful! It was opened in 1886, there is something about the "Grand Old Historic Hotels". On November 25 1969 it was listed on the Register of Historical Places. Hyatt bought the hotel in 2013 but it will continued to be called the Driskill. The lobby area is beautiful, large columns line... More

This lovely old hotel is right downtown and has everything to offer. Perfect location, lovely rooms and lobby, fun bar with live music and right on Austin's famous 6th St. You couldn't pick a nicer spot for your Austin experience.
