The LBJ Ranch is just outside of Austin; and Luckenback, TX is a short drive away!

I loved this hotel! Historic 1800's place that has been renovated a few times, but it is a fantastic structure and location not too from the evening action on 6th Street in downtown Austin, not far from the Texas state capitol building. Sat in rocking chairs on the big front balconies (smoking is allowed there) watching people going into the... More

Mouthwatering chocolate cake that makes you salivate while you wait for it to arrive at the table. Great place to have dessert first.

Had a GREAT dinner at the Driskill. The dining room is over-the-top lovely and historical. You cannot help but think of what kind of "deals" might have been conjured up at your table over the years. Food was terrific. Service was terrific. Highly recommended for a special night out. .

The Driskill is by far the most amazing hotel in Austin. It has that old fashioned high end quality that none of the other hotels have.

We have both stayed at the hotel and frequented the bar. The Driskill is a landmark on East Sixth Street, and that's both good and bad. If you're not acquainted with the Sixth Street scene, the Driskill can be a bit too much in the center of the action. However, if you ARE into the scene, the Driskill is a... More

A Grand Ole Hotel. Well kept and located in the Downtown (6th st.) area. It's a fun place to explore and think of the past. It is said there are ghosts there.

The 6th Street Bar Scene can be a little tawdry, but the Driskill Hotel at 6th and Brazos is the most beautiful hotel in Austin. Even if you're not staying there, you can feel free to walk around and admire the lobby or go have a drink in the kitschy-Texas bar. This place was cool long before the rest of... More

Has changed hands twice in recent history, but was given a fresh coat of makeup while maintaining the historical elements. Rooms are rather small by modern standards, but suffice. Superlative staff from start to finish. Valet parking takes a little while because of all the one way streets, so plan ahead.

The Driskell is a fantastic hotel...charming and timeless with some great texas style. It's location is a bit of a blessing and a curse. It's central to the heart of Austin, which can be great...especially if you are (well funded) and wanting to do the 6th Street scene. Walking (stumbling) distance to fun bars and music venues. Slightly longer walks... More

Have a cocktail take in the sights. Very limited balcony seating makes you feel like royalty. I really enjoyed the bronze sculptures all over the hotel. Horse, guns and bull horns are true Texas.
