When we go to Austin we always love going to the Driskill Hotel for drinks and Breakfast. They have the best Eggs Benedict I have ever eaten!!! Hotel is nice with beautiful architecture, you can feel the history in this place. They just don't build them like this anymore. We haven't stayed there overnight but will on our next trip... More

My Husband and I went to this Hotel for Christmas time. The Hotel was beautifully decorated and looked like what you see in Christmas movies with multiple Christmas trees and Garlands. The room was very small but you are in downtown Austin so don't stay in the room for long. I wanted Ghost because it is supposedly haunted but sadly... More

I'm a local, but I visit The Driskill every now and then for its great happy hours, amazing drinks, and the beautiful decor. The lounge also has great live music from local Austin artists as well. Try the "Batini" cocktail. It's sinful. The rooms are also inexpensive for a high-end hotel, and are incredibly reasonable during certain times of the... More

My favorite downtown bar and coffee shop are in the Driskill. The décor is old Texas grandeur. The service is superb.

Stayed here for my wedding and had a wonderful time. The staff was very helpful and accommodating throughout the weekend. I look forward to returning!

I so enjoyed being at this hotel that represents Austin at its best. Centrally located, you can drop by for drink, meal or have a sleepover.

Stop by for quick drink or walk through just to see the Remington bronzes. The restrooms are on the 2nd floor, up staircase to left of bar area. Again, nice to walk through and get a feel for the Austin crowd. Just don't try it on.a home UT football weekend. The 1886 bakery has delicious pies and ice cream if... More

I should point out first that I wasn't a hotel guest. Me and the gf were visiting Austin for the weekend. Since she never really stayed in Austin other than to pass thru, I brought her on our second day in town to stroll down 6th street. We parked along the edge of Interstate 35 highway at a pay for... Certainly a landmark hotel and definitely worth a walk though. The architecture is quite amazing and the décor is also very nice. They have a nice bar that is worth catching a drink at and features a fairly large lounge area which makes it perfect for a night cap for a party. The rooms are priced accordingly for a hotel... We did not stay in the hotel but went to the bar. Any traveler should make a point to go in and tour the hotel and go to the bar. It is absolutely beautiful and has great photo opportunities. You can even go out onto the huge upstairs porch and look down on the main street in front of the... More
