Very gorgeous and classy place! The pistol lights at the bar were unique. I could imagine seeing the Rat Pack sitting around the piano bar. Very cozy area.

The drinks, the local Austin drink specialties were wonderful as was the bar food. We were never rushed out and had a lovely server. A bit noisy but not terrible and there was live music.

This hotel features exquisite woodwork, etched glass windows and spectacular lighting fixtures and furnishings. The restaurants and bars are wonderful too. A must-see in Austin!

This is a nice, old historic hotel in downtown Austin. I cannot comment on the rooms, as I have never stayed here. The lobby is beautiful, as is the bar and it is a nice place to have a cocktail. It should be noted that the bar crowd tends to be older and mature.

Dropped in to take a look around while on a trip to Austin. It was a Sunday night so things were a little slow. My wife asked if they did any tours that we could come back for. The person at the front desk offered to take us around and give us an unofficial tour. He took us through the... More

The staff provide a warm atmosphere...the desserts are amazing and the architecture of the hotel is so beautiful! Be sure to try the signature chocolate cake.

The food and service was excellent. We had a choice of inside or outside service. We ate inside hoping to hear about the resident ghost.

It has caused all its owners to go bankrupt--remember Braniff Airlines?--but it is still going strong and a beautiful old hotel--good rest rooms too! Our walking tour ended in this hotel.

At over $400/Night, you might be intimidated to just walk in this place, but do! It is one of my favorite downtown hotels and is absolutely beautiful. The bar is a great place to hang out and drink a glass of wine. The restaurant serves great lunches. The lobby is just elegant Texas history at its finest. It's got some... More
