This hotel was lovely. While I didn't stay overnight, I popped in to see the interior after stopping to take a few photos outside. While I didn't see any ghosts, I enjoyed the atmosphere of this great historic property. Well worth a stop!

Visited hotel and had breakfast in 1886 cafe&bakery. Very nice ornamentally rich hotel, abd quite pleasant atmosphere in cafe. Breakfast was awesome too. Enjoyable!

This hotel is a must see and experience in Austin. The building's restoration is impressive. If you are a history buff appreciate beautiful architecture-you will love this place. Close to the capital building and lots of downtown venues.

My Brother in Law and I were wandering down 6th Street looking for a place to have lunch on a bitterly cold day last week. Went into this hotel thinking it was just a large café/bar but we were pleasantly surprised to find that it has a great history and has retained a magnificent decadent architecture from it's origins of... We made this our first stop for a late afternoon weekday lunch. We lucked out and were served by David, a 33 year employee, who shared many a highlight in the history of this magnificent hotel. I enjoyed a decadent special of baked pork macaroni and cheese which was a treat. My hubby enjoyed a Cuban and fries which was... More

I'm so glad we stopped to check this out. We had drinks and an appetizer in the bar. 6th street was a letdown after this! Highly recommend taking a break in the bar!

Dropped into The Driskill as the exterior of the building was charming and stood out from its surroundings. Had a cocktail at the bar while listening to live music. Also had a wander around just to be nosy. A beautiful if worn building well worth a wee visit.

This beautiful 19th century hotel has a great bar in which to spend the cocktail hour. The hotel rooms are extremely comfortable, well kept and clean. The hotel personnel were unfailingly friendly and very helpful. It was a great hotel experience.

We walked through the lobby and ate at the restaurant. The bar was closed for a private function. But it was well worth a look. The staff were all very friendly and the restaurant was fantastic!
