Very comfy lobby and mezzanine where you will fine clean bathrooms. Spend some time among the mix of original, of the period and modern sofas and furniture. There is also a great looking bakery in the lobby. A great place to sit a minute during a busy walking day.

We stopped at the Driskill for a nightcap and dessert in the bar. The band playing the bar was excellent and playing more of the type of music we had expected to hear on 6th street at a noise level that was intrusive. The dessert choices we limited. The chocolate cake and cream brûlée were tasty.

Only had tea and cake,in what is advertised as the bakery cafe.Staff very pleasant but not much choice of cake, and when it arrived was meagre. The place was virtually empty, and although a lovely building ,had no atmosphere.

the Driscoll bar is one of our favorite stops in Austin. Old time western charm, usually a unique country style band, and an elegant surrounding. Really cool place, if your in Austin and get to stay there, great. If not then be sure to stop over for a cocktail and music. It also has one of our favorite burgers in... More

Comfortable, classic but perhaps I've seen too many great ones to get excited about the The Driskill Bar. No sure it has any energy and the drinks are outrageously expensive with little pizzazz.

The hotel is located in the heart of downtown on 6th Street, which is the bar district, so you need to be aware that there will some late night noise on the streets. However, there are sound machines in each room. The rooms are lovely and unique; the quality of the hotel is evident. Elevators are a little slow, but... More

We stopped here at the bar for a nightcap, hoping it would have a conversational noise level. The live music dashed those hopes right away. Service was good at first but I had to track down the waitress for a check and we didn't get an option for a second drink at all. Total time spent was almost an hour... More

The history an decadence of this hotel seem something to not believe. You will walk into a hotel of past glory. Since I was in Austin for the weekend, decided to have one night to truly treat myself. You should know this hotel is not cheap. But the old adage of you get what you pay for was far from... More

Whether you partake in one of their great restaurants, stay the night in one of the rooms, or just tour it, this is a fabulous place. I think its a must see when in downtown Austin. The paintings are spectacular! Theres rumors of a ghost of a little girl that visits the hotel, Ive never stayed the night so cant... More
