We were really excited about our stay at the Driskill even though we were required to pre pay for 3-nights " non - refundable. To my dismay, the parking is very challenging. And we requested a quiet room, due long business days ahead, and confirmed ahead of time, plus read back to me upon check in by the clerk if... More

We spent two nights at the Driskill and had a great stay. The lobbly is gorgeous, and our room was lovely - high ceilings, comfortable bed, not huge by Texas standards but big enough! The staff was attentive, especially Randall in the bar - we stopped by for a cocktail before dinner, he gave us some recommendations for restaurants. We... More

This is a great historical building that is worth a visit if you are already on Congress Ave. It still hums when the Legislature is in town. You can have a drink, or a even cup of tea to rest up before heading out just to pick up the vibe.

What you must understand about the Driskill is that it was built when travel standards were quite different. By the standards of today, our room was quite tiny, and the bathroom was unremarkable (but clean and well-appointed). The in-room video was fuzzy, but hey, you're not staying at the Driskill to stay in your room, or at least, you shouldn't... More

Beautiful place, attentive staff. Interesting and comfortable room. There are cheaper places to stay if you just want to sleep but we thoroughly enjoyed the historic setting and the location is perfect to walk all of downtown. One caveat, the 2nd floor suite was beautiful but could be a little noisy right on sixth, just ask at the desk, they... More

Stopped into this famous hotel to take some pictures and ended up in the lounge for a drink. They have lots of drink specials and a nice happy hour. A great piano player and nice service.

I don't know why there isn't a separate heading for the bar--there should be. While the quality of both the Driskill Grill and 1886 Bakery has varied over time, the bar is always a rock-solid institution. Happy Hour prices are quite reasonable, and there is live music every night. No one has a bad time here.

The story behind this hotel took us to this place. Kids were ready for a ghost haunt. Nice architectural design and old artifacts still are displaced.

Very reasonable prices for such a famous landmark. Great place for a cool drink and a burger to escape from the hot sun for a while.
