This hotel is superbly located on historic sixth street in Austin. It has many great ghost stories for the brave, nice rooms, and right outside the hotel you can get a horse and buggy tour of Austin. Look for a good deal on the room rates but even if you cannot find them, the hotel is worth the visit.

We walked through a wonderful reception area which was reminiscent of n opulent bygone age. We only had time for coffee and cake so where directed to the correct area. The waitress was extremely disinterested in our order, so much so I had to virtually serve myself. Up until this point we had enjoyed wonderful service throughout Austin & were... More

Cool hotel in the best location in Austin. Located on 6th St. across from the old drinking bars that made Austin wierd. The street restaurant is good and has a good bartender. Mezzanine has music some nights and that adds to the mood of the Driskill. I love really nice hotels that have spirit and the Driskill does that.

This place has quite a history ... and thank goodness the hotel has been preserved because it was almost torn down more than once. There are pictures of Lady Bird and LBJ because this was their election headquarters. Would have been nice to have dinner, because I hear it is really special, so maybe the next time...

Lively bar with great music. Steeped in history and the décor was very extravagant with statues and explanations of what they stood for

As an Austinite, I like the little secrets that we have, as in any city. The Driskill is one of those secrets. In the chaos that is 6th street, I like to go into the Driskill for a break. Marble and wood bathrooms as a start. There is a nice upstairs bar area, with soft leather seats, a grand piano,... More

The Driskill is one of the great hotels in TEXAS! The woodwork is amazing! They have excellent food but the bar is a great place to have a drink!

We stayed here in 2005 for our engagement weekend. We went back 10 years later and the hotel is just as nice and has a great crowd and bar area.

Great location and building, staff so-so, loved the bar, history of the building, setting and closeness to the city Hotel staff, housekeeping only fair. Valet guys were great and hardest working people there!

The Driskill is a great historic hotel in the heart of downtown. The service is excellent and the Driskill Bar is very nice. We live in Austin, but when we want to come downtown for a night and not have to drive, we stay at the Driskill or the Four Seasons. The Driskill definitely has more character. The Senate Suite...
