Rocking fun pocket to walk around - shop, eat, and chill

SoCo is an awesome pocket in Austin that was nothing about 15 years ago and now is rocking with fun cafes and shops.

Cool place very lots of art and unique places. Very vintage funky feel to it. Also very dog friendly most of the restiraunts had outside seating so you have your dog with you.

Visitors: I'd definitely put this on my "top 10" for Austin; Even if you're "over 50" (as this reviewer is)... Love the "artsy" stores, with unique gifts, the vintage furniture store, Lucy in Disguise, Home Slice pizza... Austin-made gifts and t-shirts, and music on many nights,, at different venues. Reasonable parking rate in garage behind Guerro's... don't miss Guerro's for... More

Great place for people watching, dining, and eclectic shopping. For a nice evening try Vespaio or South Congress Cafe. For local flavor, Gueros or Home Slice pizza are awesome. Don't forget dessert at Hey Cupcake or Amy's Ice Cream.

SoCo is a busy area with lots of shops and eateries and foot and car traffic. It's worth a stroll to shop and catch a bite and feel a part of the Austin life.

Parking can be a problem for some unless you're willing to pay in a parking lot. be mindful of pedestrians even if you have a green light, to them... More

SoCo is just a fun place to walk taking in the music, variety of peoples, and local culture. The restaurant choices are varied in style and price, and I haven't had a bad meal in any on the many I've tried. There are a couple of motels that I think are pricey, but they offer a uniqueness that gives you... More
